When Donald Trump had taken over the Oval office from Barrack Obama in 2017, Melania Trump had delayed her move from New York to Washington DC. At that time it was widely believed that Melania had delayed the move to ensure that her son Barron Trump could complete the current school year before they moved to Washington.

However, what many do not know is that the reason behind the delay is also Melania's sister Ines Knauss, who has never been under the spotlight. It was said that the 52-year-old sister could have played a role in Melania wanting to stay back in New York a bit longer. Especially because, Ines was helping Melania raise her son.

Who is Melania Trump's sister Ines Knauss?

Ines lived just four blocks away from Trump Tower, which was where Donald, Melania, and Barron used to live, in a Trump-owned one-bedroom apartment that was valued at $2 million — the same building on the Upper East Side in which Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump also stayed before they moved into their new house in Washington.

Audrey Gruss, who is a Palm Beach philanthropist, spoke about Melania and Ines' relationship and said that the two were extremely close. She also stated that Ines was "a lovely person, and extremely creative" and that she had met her at a fundraiser for the Boys' Club of New York at Mar-a-Lago in 2005. According to New York Post, Ines was cited as an artist who has been by her sister's side for years.

Ines was also the maid of honor in Melania's wedding to Donald Trump in 2005. Even Ines' social media doesn't reveal too much about her but includes a few sketches. The page also highlights her younger sister's achievements.

She had even posted pictures of Melania as a toddler who is seen standing in front of a cake with a single candle. There is also one where Melania's mother Amalija Knavs, is holding the 2-year-old Melania. There is also a picture of Melania from her days modeling in Italy.

A photographer who knows both Melania and Ines said that both of them moved out of Slovenia in the 1990s. Ale de Basseville, a Paris-based photographer who took nude pictures of Melania for a French men’s magazine when she was living in New York in the mid-1990s said that Melania had tried to make it big as a model, while Ines tried to break into fashion designing.

The photographer said about Ines, "She really wanted to be in fashion but didn’t know how to break in." He then added, "Ines wasn’t like the other girls you would meet there, who behave like queens. She was really polite and very mellow.” However, Ines is definitely not mellow when it comes to protecting her sister.

When Melania had taken a part in Donald's presidential campaign in 2016, people claiming to be her former boyfriends gave interviews to the Slovenian press. Referring to this, Ines had posted on Facebook, "We all have good memories & lies are not good karma.” Milan-based fashion designer Luisa Beccaria, who met Inez on a handful of occasions in Palm Beach and New York said, "Ines is a very dedicated sister."

Beccaria spoke about visiting Melania after the birth of her son Barron and said, "I realized that Melania was very close to her family when I saw them all there supporting her after Barron’s birth," and added, "Melania had all the professional help she needed at that point, but it was her sister she trusted."
