LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the eight-time reigning champion of 'The Voice', Blake Shelton has earned the reputation of being one of the winning coaches on the singing competition show especially for aspiring country singers. But it looks like his new fellow coach Camila Cabello is giving him a run for his money.

After stealing two four-chair-turn country artists from right under Blake;s nose, Camila surprised her fellow coaches with her strategic pitching. By the end of 'The Voice' Season 22's premiere episode, Blake had nobody on his Team Blake, while the other coaches had quite a few singers on their team. But the country legend wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet and decided to go toe to toe against Camila in order to get the last performer of the episode- Kate Kalvach onto his team. From muting Camila to bringing out a goat with the nameplate Blake hanging around its neck, the country star pulled out all stops to win her over. Who is Kate Kalvach?

Kate is a 27-year-old singer from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Oklahoma in 2013. She currently works as the creative director at Hope Connection Church. She is married to a Czech artist- Matt Kalvach, who she met at her college. In her introduction package, Matt can be heard praising his wife's vocals and encouraging her to pursue her passion of singing. In 2017, Kate released her debut single 'Unshaken'.

For her audition performance, Kate chose Rainbow by Kacey Musgraves. Not wanting to just be boxed as a country singer, Kate expressed her interest in exploring other genres as well. While Gwen Stefani, Blake, and Camila, were beyond impressed with her vocals, Blake had the added pressure of having the young songstress on his team as she hailed from the same city as him. It became a matter of pride for Blake to get his fellow "Okie" to join Team Blake as its first member.

While we will have to wait and watch to see if Kate picks Blake, in the meanwhile, fans are already very amused by the antics of Blake and camila. In order to curb his competition, Blake stealthily kept muting Camila as she tried to pitcher herself to Kate. He later tried bringing a goat onto the stage, to drive home the point on how he is the GOAT aka "Greatest Artist Of All Time'. But unfortunately for Blake, the goat refused to get onto the stage. 

Several amused fans took to Twitter to praise Camila for getting blake on his toes. A fan tweeted, "Seriously, to think that @Camila_Cabello is just 25years and she's already a judge on this show is incredible + she's pulling the strings and not letting Blake intimidate her at all, I love that. #TheVoice." "That was the first episode and i already loved it so much omg!! camila is so nailing this!! already got 2 contestants, she also giving such great advices and also her and blake’s bond is so funny to see, i love it #TheVoice #TeamCamila," observed a fan.

'The Voice' Season 22 airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC, and is available for streaming on Peacock.
