Who is Hulk Lawyer? Parent asks Clark County school board to teach about Confederate soldier

At Clark County School Board meeting, parent says schools should teach students about the fictional soldier for Black History Month

As part of Black History Month, one parent wants students to be taught about the Confederate soldier named Hulk Lawyer, who served under General Vines. The bizarre admission was made by a man identified on Twitter as John Carlo, at a Clark County School Board hearing on February 18, 2022.

The news is just the latest bizarre occurrence at school board meetings, which we at MEAWW have widely tracked. In December 2021, one parent at Glastonbury High punched a board member for axing the tomahawk from the school's sports teams logo. In October, a man was ejected from a Florida board meeting for reading excerpts of a vulgar book available to high school students. Most famously, James Akers stripped down to his underwear during a Texas board meeting in August to support mask mandates.

But while all those incidents stem from real-world situations, it seems Carlo wasn't quite living in the same reality. In a video uploaded by PatriotTakes on Twitter, Carlo is heard saying, "I honor of Black History Month, I will be speaking about Confederate Black history." It only got weirder from there.

Who is Hulk Lawyer?

"I will be speaking about Confederate Black history of this boy, he was 14-years-old," Carlo said. He then went on to say, "his name was Hulk Lawyer. He joined the confederacy under his General Vines." Carlo then went on to say why he made that bizarre claim - "If you talk about diversity, why don't you talk about Hulk Lawyer?" As noble as the sentiment was, there is only one issue - there's no one called Hulk Lawyer. As PatriotTakes themselves noted, "There is no record of a Confederate General named Vines or anyone named Hulk Lawyer." The group then joking added in another tweet, "The only Hulk Lawyer in the multiverse is Marvel character Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk." For good measure, they also tweeted, "Hulk Lawyer coming for Confederate Waldo," with an image of Jennifer Walters. Searches for Hulk Lawyer only bring up Jennifer Walters, and we could not find any links to the Confederacy, so it seems like this is just another bizarre conspiracy theory. 

It appears as if Carlo is indeed the man behind the bizarre claim. Shortly after he was identified on Twitter, his account was deleted. He has also been linked to the Instagram account GhostPatriort1776, which has also been taken down. However, screenshots now circulating on social media say Carlo believes '"slave owners provided freedom, comparable to Jews rescued from WWII Nazi Germany." 

'The angrier alter-ego of Marjorie Taylor Green'

"“Hulk Lawyer” sounds like someone Donald Trump would have as a criminal defense attorney," Palmer Report joked. One Twitter user slammed, "The reason why black people should discuss anything about black history is cause uninformed white people create history, out of thin air. Hulk Lawyer doesnt exist." A third person said, "Don't make Hulk Lawyer angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. Hulk Lawyer smash your lawsuit! Seriously, the existence of a lawyer who was exposed to gamma rays & turns into the Hulk when upset is a hell of a lot more plausible than what this moron is blathering on about."

"What if it turns out Hulk Lawyer is the angrier alter-ego of Marjorie Taylor Green," one person joked. Another lamented, "here i thought hulk lawyer was trending because a she-hulk trailer came out but nope just a moron." "This guy definitely learned about Hulk Lawyer at Trump University," another mocked.
