Who is Diana Walshe? Ana Walshe's 'reclusive' mother-in-law was spotted outside her home on January 7
COHASSET, MASSACHUSETTS: A woman said to be missing Ana Walshe's mother-in-law, Diana, was reportedly spotted outside her residence on January 7. Walshe, 39, a mother-of-three, has been missing since January 1. Her husband, Brian, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on January 9 for misleading investigators about his whereabouts following Walshe's disappearance and was held on a $500,000 bond.
In the aftermath of Walshe's disappearance, criminal defense attorney Rachel Fiset, co-founder and managing partner of Los Angeles-based Zweiback, Fiset & Zalduendo LLP, informed MEAWW via email that Brian was probably going to be charged with the murder of his wife. "Prosecutors absolutely have enough circumstantial evidence to charge him with murder, but they may be taking their time to dot the i’s and cross the t’s on the affidavit of probable cause and make sure all the evidence they present in that document is solid," she said.

As more chilling details emerge about the disappearance of the 39-year-old, such as Brian searching online for “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body" in the days surrounding Walshe going missing, and a damaged knife with blood being recovered from a basement, Diana was reportedly spotted outside Ana's residence. Quoting a neighbor and two other residents, Fox News reported that a woman resembling Diana was spotted walking close to the house wearing a grey coat. She was also driving a red VW Bug.
Who is Diana Walshe?
Brian is reportedly the only son of Diana and renowned neurosurgeon Dr Thomas Walshe. While a lot is known about Brian's father, who reportedly died at the age of 71 during a trip to India in 2018, very little is known about his mother Diana. According to Gossip Next Door, Diana was born in November 1949 and this would make her 73. She is known to have shared a very close relationship with her son, and was reportedly totally dependent on him.
A letter submitted to the judge on behalf of Brian by his defense lawyers in an art fraud case described Diana as a “recluse” who was “totally dependent on her son for her emotional and physical needs.” The Daily Beast quoted a close family friend as saying that Diana could be “confrontative” at times and there were instances of aggression. The friend, however, clarified that they never heard of the Walshe household as being violent. As per the report, in a separate letter, Diana wrote, “My son is the only reason I get up in the morning. He is the ONLY person to take care of me and is always there for me.”
