LAREDO, TEXAS: Authorities in Texas declared an urgent Amber Alert after a nine-month-old girl was snatched off the street on Wednesday, November 8, prompting a desperate search. However, the girl was later found.

The offender reportedly took off in a Volkswagon Tiguan, blue in colour, with a temporary Texas tag. 

Delilah Lopez was last seen at around 12.40 am local time in Laredo, Texas, where she and her family live, according to the alert. The alert states that the baby was likely in "grave or immediate danger." The child weighs 15 pounds and is described as having brown hair and brown eyes.

How did the authorities find Delilah Lopez?

The police found Lopez and the vehicle in question on the corner of Philadelphia Street and Juarez Avenue in Laredo at around 7.10 am local time.

In a statement posted to X, the police said, "The child has been located. According to preliminary reports, the child appears to be unharmed and in good condition."



 

As of now, no further details have been provided about the recovery, including the connection between the suspect and the baby, who was snatched in the 1500 block of E Bustamante Street in Laredo, according to CBS News.



 

The authorities have listed a person of interest in the case

The preliminary Amber Alert didn't detail what the girl was wearing, either, but it did describe the vehicle the suspect was driving in great detail.

It referred to it as a blue Volkswagon Tiguan from 2015 with a temporary Texas tag bearing the number 397 0S52. Initial reports indicated that the license plate number and model year were different.

The city of Laredo borders Mexico and is a little under 160 miles (257km) southwest of San Antonio. Local news outlets are reporting that they do have a suspect, but no additional information has been provided.

Anyone with additional information about the incident has been asked to call the Laredo Police Department at 956-795-2800. The police are still investigating the incident and searching for more information.

Amber Alert issued for two girls abducted from Burger King in Columbus

Meaww previously reported that an Amber Alert was issued for two Georgia girls who were abducted. Kylie Horne, 11, and Kylann Harper, four, were reportedly taken from a Burger King in Columbus.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued the America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response (AMBER) Alert.

The Columbus Police Department said the two girls were last seen at a Burger King located at 7301 Veterans Parkway in Columbus, Georgia, around 11.52 am on October 15. The police have identified the two adult female suspects, 49-year-old Mikaela Harrell and Kaila Spires. NCMEC said Spires is the mother of the girls, as per Fox 5 Atlanta.

The girls are believed to be in Harrell's custody, as per the Amber Alert.
