Deividas Skebas: Lithuanian man, 22, held for the murder of Lillia Valutyte was once a 'polite' altar boy
BOSTON, UK: A nine-year-old girl was stabbed to death by a fruit picker on July 28. According to reports, the accused was once a well-educated altar boy called Deividas Skebas.
Skebas, 22, has been charged with murdering Lillia Valutyte. The girl was fatally attacked as she played with her littler sister outside a café in Boston, England.

Deividas Skebas is a Lithuanian national who belonged to the tiny village of Leliūnai, ten miles from the industrial city of Utena in north east Lithuania. Skebas is believed to have spent his of youth in Leliūnai. As a teen, he helped out in the local Roman Catholic Church. According to The Mail Online, Deividas used to assist the priest in carrying out various activites including weddings, christenings and mass at the redbrick Roman Catholic church.
Deividas described as 'pleasant young man'
While speaking to the Mail Online, one villager said, "everyone here is shocked that he has been charged with the murder of a little girl," adding that "people remember him here as an ordinary, and polite boy." Another added how Deividas was a "polite, kind, sincere, well-educated young man," while speaking to the Lithuanian newspaper Lietuvos Rytas. A third villager said Deividas was "always a polite, pleasant young man". They added he was last seen in the village "a couple of months ago."
At that time, the villagers said, "he didn't raise any suspicions. He didn't seem to be doing anything wrong - he was as cute as ever." On July 28, Lilia Valutyte was killed when she was playing with a hula hoop next to her five-year-old sister at around 6:20 pm. The nine year old's mother, who was working in a café at the time of the incident, recalled she heard one of her daughter's scream "mum" at the time.
The mother, Lina Savicke told the Sunday Mirror, "on that fateful day I was giving a gift to my friend when the children were playing outside my windows. As I ran around the corner, I heard someone calling me, 'Mum!' " Lina added, "I go out and see how my little girl was standing a metre away from the big one and she just bled to death." Deividas was arrested and is in custody. He will be produced before the Lincoln Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 19.
Meanwhile, Deividas' mum Daiva Skebienė called the child's mother Lina, offering her support on the horrific tragedy. Lina said, "his mother called yesterday. I heard that he comes from a very good family." Deividas' mum Daiva Skebienė owns a flower shop in Utena. She resides with her husband Darius Skebas and their 18-year-old daughter in an apartment block in the village.
