Rumors suggest that the TikTok star likes golf just like BTOB's Sungjae and the two have been on golf dates together

Dating bans are supposed to be things of the past and idols of various groups have revealed news of dating other idols in the past. While on one hand fans are aware that idols do date in secret, some delusional fans believe that idols who have not publicly revealed their partners are supposed to be single even though they are crossing 30 years of age. Such is not the case for BTOB’s fandom, which is welcoming a new Melody in the form of Yook Sungjae’s rumored girlfriend.

On April 18, the media portal Pannchoa reported that BTOB’s maknae Sungjae was embroiled in a dating rumor and the news spread online soon after. In the past, Sungjae has been involved in other dating rumors like when it was claimed that he was dating Red Velvet’s Joy after their appearance on the variety show ‘We Got Married,’ where the two idols pretended to be a married couple and lived together.

BTOB’s Sungjae rumored to be dating an influencer

The chemistry between the two was unmatched and fans started looking for award show interactions and more between Sungjae and Joy until much after the show ended. But, back in 2021, Joy announced that she was dating P Nation’s solo artist Crush and put an end to the hopes of all “Sungjoy” shippers. Now with Sungjae finally back from the military and ready to star in the upcoming K-drama ‘The Golden Spoon’ alongside other BTOB projects, fans of the idol have a new rumor to tackle. It was reported that Sungjae was dating a social media (SNS) influencer who is an Instagram model and a TikTok star.

While media outlets did not reveal her identity, it was revealed that the influencer, S, uploaded a video of herself playing golf while a male voice that was heard in the video resembled Sungjae’s. This alone does not prove that the influencer is dating Sungjae but eagle-eyed fans also pointed out that Sungjae himself has been posting a lot of golf-related updates on his Instagram. He also posted a photo on his story where he wrote, “I want to play golf.”

Fans went to the extent of finding a similar set of photos posted by Sungjae and the influencer on their respective social media accounts while it was also reported that both individuals had matching phone cases - otherwise known as couple phone cases - adding to the suspicion that Sungjae is dating a commoner. Rumors also suggest that it was BTOB’s Peniel who introduced the two as it was alleged that Peniel is an acquaintance of S.

'Now Sungjae got one rumor himself'

BTOB fans are not toxic about the situation and are happy for Sungjae as they send support to the maknae. One fan said, "Here we are thinking that changsub would be the first to come out and reveal that he’s in a relationship and then comes sungjae with his dating rumour like–" One fan said, "Me seeing sungjae's dating rumour as soon as i woke up." Another fan responded, "MY BRAIN TOOK LONG TO PROCESS BUT IF THIS IS TRUE IM HECKING HAPPY but if its not true i can see sungjae dissing the rumour on real time this time sjshshs."

One supportive fan said, "Anyway, whether it’s true or not, do whatever you wanna do, Sungjae. After all, it’s your life."
