Elon Musk has called Jewish American retired US Army officer Lt-Col Alexander Vindman a "puppet & puppeteer" after Vindman shared a copypasta suggesting Musk is "erratic" and too powerful now that he owns Twitter. Musk tweeted, "Vindman is both puppet & puppeteer. Question is who pulls his strings …?"

In response to Musk's tweet, Vindman wrote, "Elon asked who pulls my strings? It’s not China. It’s not Saudi Arabia. It’s not Russia. It’s @votevets I work to elevate the voices of veterans." Vindman has now claimed he received hate speech after taking on Musk.

Musk's tweet was in response to a tweet posted by Tablet magazine Chief Technology Officer Noam Blum mocking the copypasta, which read, "Kinda weird that @elonmusk gets to decide how like a half-billion people communicate. Way too much power for one erratic individual to wield, don't you think?"

Who is Alexander Vindman?

Alexander Vindman is the Director for European Affairs for the United States National Security Council. He became popular after testifying before Congress regarding the Trump-Ukraine scandal, which involved a quid pro quo that Donald Trump, who was then the president, allegedly offered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Vindman is married to Rachel Vindman, co-host of The Suburban Women Problem. He is the senior advisor of VoteVets.

Vindman's has now posted a message he received after taking on Musk. The message calls him an "ugly, nasty jew or jew defender, existing in the world as the mouthpiece of globalist claptrap that seeks to destroy all that is lovely and decent." "@realDonaldTrump, @kanyewest, @elonmusk promote this kind of hate speech & no member of the @SenateGOP @HouseGOP has the courage to stand up and say it’s wrong. I will hold you accountable! I will fight you on this. #HereRightMatters," Vindman wrote.

"I have never received something like this. We are experiencing a rise in hate, while many look the other way or seek to profit from it. I refuse to allow this to be the norm and a part of my child’s future. I will fight against hate and extremism and for decency and acceptance," he said, adding the email ID of the person who sent the message.

Twitter acquisition by Musk started on April 14, 2022, and concluded on October 27, 2022. He began buying shares of the social media platform in January 2022, and eventually became the company's largest shareholder in April with a 9.1 percent ownership stake.
