Who is Daniil Medvedev's wife? Daria's tennis career dreams were quashed because of injuries
Daniil Medvedev might be the world's number 2 tennis player, but to his wife Daria Medvedeva, he is, of course, number 1. They met when they were young tennis players and found each other because of their passion for the sport. Right from their teen years to their early 20s, the couple has been together for almost a decade now. Their four-year-long relationship turned into a marriage, which has lasted for three years now, with Daniil always crediting Daria as the reason he is better both as a person and as a player.
Daniil is currently competing in the US Open with his upcoming match against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov. At the young age of 25, the tennis star already has a big fan in seasoned player, Andy Murray. Born on February 10, 1995 in Moscow, Russia, Daniil is notoriously private about his personal life. Always delivering on the court, the tennis pro hardly ever mentions his wife Daria on social media. His Instagram is sprinkled with shots of the tennis player earning accolades in the sport with no mention of his personal life anywhere. But on the off-chance that Daniil does open up about his marriage, it's all sunshine and bliss.

Who is Daniil Medvedev's wife?
Daniil and Daria, both from Russia, have been married since 2018. The couple dated for four years before tying the knot. They were both pretty young when they started dating — Daniil was 18 when he and Daria began their relationship. Much like her world ranking husband, Daria is exceptionally gifted in tennis too. The outlet firstsportz.com reports that Daria is a 100 junior tennis player. Daniil has reportedly always maintained that Daria played a huge role in motivating him towards becoming a world-class tennis player.
Daria too did her schooling and graduated from Moscow. Despite her journalism background, Daria was an adept tennis player until she suffered injuries that hindered her from playing the game professionally. Firstsportz writes that the lovebirds met all the way back in the year 2014 and up until Daria's injuries, she too had plans of making a career in the sport. "She played tennis until she was 17 or 18, but because of injuries she couldn’t reach the desired level," Daniil reportedly said about Daria in an interview, the outlet reports.
Daria among 'most important members' of Daniil's team
But that hasn't stopped the couple's romance from thriving. “It’s great that she understands tennis. She knows that we can’t go shopping before the game. Understands that I can be busy from 8 am until the evening. Perhaps it’s not easy to get used to it when you don’t understand anything in tennis. It helped me to become better as a person and a player,” the World No. 2 had reportedly said in an interview.
Daniil had also called Daria a major part of his professional life as well. “She’s one of the most important members of my team,” he had said during a press conference in 2019. Firstsportz reports Daniil is a "believer" when it comes to lady luck, as he had once said of Daria: "She gave me a lot of confidence. I always say that it’s the moment I made the proposal to her, that’s when I started to go up." Married for over three years now, the happy couple reportedly live in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
