'The Masked Singer' Season 5 premiered its second episode titled 'Shamrock and Roll' on Wednesday night, March 17. Kicking off the performances for the evening was the intimidating Black Swan mask. Dressed from head to toe in a black tulle costume with pointy feathers and red gloves, and an equally mask that again has a pop of red, the Black Swan didn't come to play. She performed 'Barracuda' by Heart and the judges immediately knew that this celebrity could be a professional singer.

There were no backup dancers when the Black Swan was rocking out on the stage, maybe it was an intentional move given how powerful the performance was. She had a rocker vibe to her and the judges were right in tune with her, completely immersed in the experience that she was creating through her performance. "Group B is not messing around, that performance was incredible," Nicole Scherzinger said at the end of the act.

The clues

A special clue about the identity of each masked celebrity flashes on the television screen when they enter the stage for the first time, courtesy the Cluedle Doo. In this case, the clue read, "Black Swan has covered a monster". In her clue package, she said, "Black swans, like me, are incredibly rare. But I didn't factor in that my talent might make me someone else's prey." She was seen standing alone in a snow-covered forest and later she was seen trapped in a net. "I was caught up, hypnotized by a Hollywood deal I couldn't resist. One that would make my dreams come true," she said as a pocket watch with the number '5' on it appeared on the screen.

Black Swan talked about paying a "steep price" for falling under the spell of the fame ticket and was worried about her future as she felt she "would never see the light of day again". The clue package reveals that she was suddenly rescued by a "faithful flock that set me free". Lastly, she said, "I'm here to show the world that I'm in control and I'm here to own that stage." The other visual clues included a red bishop chess piece, a diamond ring, a red X mark on the snowy ground, and a red square she holds in her hand.

There are a number of 'X Factor' and Fifth Harmony or '5H' clues that the judges picked on in the package video and the tonality of the voice points out to Camila Cabello. However, the bonus clue points to Jojo Levesque because, in 2008, she had covered T'Pain's 'Can't Believe It', who was the Monster on 'The Masked Singer'. The 'X Factor' clues also apply to her as she was a contestant on 'X Factor Celebrity' as well as the '5H' clues as she toured with them.
