‘The Masked Singer’ Season 5 Celebrity Clues: From Elton John to Natalie Portman, all guesses for gorgeous masks
Season 4 of ‘The Masked Singer’ upped the ante with contestants like Paul Anka, Chloe Kim, Tori Kelly, Busta Rhymes, Taylor Dayne, and Mickey Rourke. Now, it is time for ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 5 with a brand new line-up. For the fresh season presented by Fox, we will see judges Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jenny McCarthy making their clever guesses with an intention to unmask the celebrities.
‘The Masked Singer’ season 5 costumes have already been revealed where the viewers will get to see celebrities dressed eloquently from head to toe in extravagant masks and costumes. Grandpa Monster, Chameleon, Black Swan, Porcupine, Phoenix, The Piglet, Russian Dolls, Raccoon, Seashell and Snail have been announced as this season’ costumes and interestingly, Season 5 will also include a non-contestant mask called “Cluedle-Doo”, who will interrupt the show and give out new clues. The Sun was crowned as the Season 4 winner who turned out to be LeAnn Rimes. Speaking of the latest season, the contestants boast a combined 26 Grammy nominations, nine multi-platinum singles, four Academy Award nominations, three Super Bowl appearances, six Gold Medals, and two World Records. We are here to speculate who these masked celebrities can be even if it is too early to decide.

Who is Grandpa Monster?
“You are never too old to slay” is how the costume of the very adorable Grandpa Monster was revealed during the announcement of the masked celebrities. We have already seen T-Pain and Chaka Khan getting unmasked as the Monster in Season 1 and Miss Monster in Season 2 but looking at the costume of Grandpa Monster, it seems the hidden celebrity might have a lot of gray hair. Grandpa Monster wears a bright orange costume with two horns and one huge eye along with a small cap on his head. He has also been given a walker with Cosco balls attached to it to help him walk. Though, looking at the concept of the show, we never know it might be a young person as well. Many on the Internet speculated that it might be American voice actor Rob Paulsen, who is 64-year-old, while a few guessed him as 65-year-old actor and writer Leslie Jordan. Leslie is best known for his roles as Lonnie Garr in ‘Hearts Afire’ and Beverly Leslie in ‘Will & Grace’. A few also guessed the Grandpa Monster to be any rapper from the 80s or 90s.
Who are the Russian Dolls?
In the premiere episode of ‘The Masked Singer’ season 5, we will see two gorgeous Russian Dolls, one big and another a little small in size, taking over the stage with the Grammy and Oscar-winning Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper ballad ‘Shallow.’ Their costume allows them minimal movement but it comes with a marionette-style mouth with a lower jaw that opens and closes. The viewers soon started guessing them to be pop-rock band Hanson who in reality consists of brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac. A few also got the vibe of country singers duo Dan and Shay.
Who is Chameleon?
The costume of Chameleon is surely one of the most colourful costumes in the newest season of ‘The Masked Singer.’ The same masked character made a lot of noise when it first appeared in the UK version of the same reality series and we are sure the viewers are going to love Chameleon in the new version. During the introduction, Chameleon says, “My voice and my look will keep you guessing” while holding a book in his hand. Looking at the vibrant costume, many are guessing the masked celebrity to be none other than Elton John. The retro disco vibes from the Chameleon made people think of the legendary crooner. The bright red costume with shades of blue also made people to think him as singer Harry Styles. Interestingly, many are also speculating it to be a female celebrity. A few are making their guesses with actress, comedian, and author Jane Marie Lynch who is best known for her role of Sue Sylvester in the Fox musical comedy series ‘Glee’, which also earned her a Primetime Emmy Award.
Who is Phoenix?
With a glittery red costume and huge feathers, Phoenix surely has one of the most gorgeous costumes on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 5. The tagline of the masked celebrity stated, “Risen from the ashes.” Looking at the costume after the announcement, many are speculating her to be a TV star and singer Kelly Clarkson. Many also went with the guesses of singer, songwriter, and actress Tina Turner, who is also known as the “Queen of Rock 'n' Roll”. Queen Latifah was another wild guess a few went with. Well, only time will tell who is the hidden masked celebrity behind the fierce character.
Who is Black Swan?
Natalie Portman first made the character of Black Swan famous from the 2011 movie with the same name and therefore, her name was bound to get the hype the moment this character was announced. Mila Kunis, who also played a prominent role in the flick is getting equal attention for Black Swan. However, looking at the outfit, the masked celebrity seems to be tall and Zendaya is another wild guess people are going for. Singer Demi Lovato and actress, dancer, singer and model Heather Morris are also being speculated the Black Swan on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 5.
Who is The Racoon?
Dressed in blue disco pants with a red chequered shirt and an orange half-sleeve jacket teamed up with a cowboy hat, the Racoon is surely going to be one naughty masked celebrities on the show. A long furry tail also stands out in his costume as he introduces himself as, “You might not be able to trust me with your lunch but you can trust, I can sing baby.” We also spotted a pink flamingo in the announcement video which led to a few guessing a connection with Disney. The Raccoon seems to be a male character but Adrienne Bailon is one of the top speculations coming ahead for the character. She is a 37-year-old singer, actress, television host, and entrepreneur. A former member of girl groups 3LW and The Cheetah Girls, Kiely Williams is also being speculated as the Racoon under the hidden mask.
Who is Porcupine?
A head full of spikes, one red eye and a robotic giant brown costume is how the Porcupine lands on the stage of ‘The Masked Singer’ season 5. During the introduction, the Porcupine says, “Think you can figure out who Iam. That might be point-less.” The huge size of the masked celebrity soon gave birth to the speculations of Porcupine being Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. A few went in the other direction and speculated Porcupine to be Scarlett Johansson.
Who is The Snail?
We are really wondering how the Snail is going to pull-off the performances with a really heavy costume but it surely looks adorable. The masked celebrity will land on the stage in an all-brown costume fitted with a long hat on its back. Speculations soon started coming in as a few guessing it to be Ryan Reynolds. We also saw a few guesses going with Irish actor and comedian Chris O'Dowd.
Who is Seashell?
Seashell might have the most unique costume on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 5. Looking at the outfit and the physical appearance, we are guessing it to be a female celebrity. Decked up in a flowery cute outfit with a huge pink shell on the head, the masked celebrity surely looks adorable. Coming to the speculations, many are guessing it to be the 25-year-old actress and singer Dove Cameron who is best known for playing dual roles as the eponymous characters in the Disney Channel comedy series ‘Liv and Maddie’. She also won Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in Children's Programming. Apart from her, a few also got Paris Hilton vibes from the Seashell.
Who is The Piglet?
If you thought the Snail was the cutest of all the contestants revealed on ‘The Masked Singer’ season 5, then you are in for a surprise as The Piglet is here to give equal competition in the same category. The newest member on the show was the last one to be revealed by the show makers and we feel it was completely worth it. “If you're a bacon eater, you'll be a real fan. He's a real hog,” is how guest host Niecy Nash introduces The Piglet in the preview. He made his entry with the costume featuring green plaid overalls and a pinwheel hat, with matching green socks and shoes. Though it is to early to speculate who might be The Piglet but the show lovers are guessing him to be Nicholas Scott Lachey aka Nick Lachey. He is a 47-year-old actor-singer, and television personality and host. He is best known as the lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling boyband 98 Degrees. He also later starred in the reality series ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’ with his then-wife Jessica Simpson.
Season 5 of ‘The Masked Singer’ will premiere on March 10, Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
