AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND: In the one-on-one date between Jenn Tran and Devin Strader on the Monday, July 29 episode of 'The Bachelorette' Season 21, they meet a group of Māori people who openly share insights into their culture.

Given that both Devin and Jenn come from ethnic backgrounds they wish they had closer ties to, this day holds significant meaning for them. Devin's father is Mexican, and Jenn's parents are Vietnamese.

During the meal portion of the date, they began discussing their identities and sharing stories about their family backgrounds. Jenn opened up about how her parents's divorce deeply affected her, especially when her father eventually left her life.

Devin claimed that since his parents were never married and his mother raised him on her own, he also struggled with the absence of a father figure. His vulnerability resonates deeply, earning him the rose once again.

'The Bachelorette's Devin Strader opens up about his father

Jenn and Devin begin their date outside the Marae Māori Meeting Grounds, where a troupe of traditional dancers welcomes them with a Māori greeting. Once they enter the sacred area, their guide invites them to discuss topics that are important to them.

Devin spoke first, sharing with the group that his mother serves as his emotional "mountain," and his father, who immigrated from Mexico. "Thank you for having us here,” he continued. "I hope we can continue to make you proud." Jenn found Devin's dedication to his mother quite touching, and it created a heartfelt moment between them.

On X, fans express their appreciation for Devin opening up, with comments like, "Devin opening up about his mom and admitting he used to idolize his father." Devin, 28, was born on January 31, 1996, in Sugar Land, Texas. He was raised by a single mother along with his younger brother. His upbringing in Houston influenced both his educational path and residential choices.

Devin was born in Sugar Land but now calls Houston, Texas, home and is an American citizen. He often refers to his mother as his "hero," highlighting her significant impact on his values and family-oriented perspective. He stated that his ultimate objective is to have a joyful, cohesive family life. "My family-oriented mindset came from the way I grew up. I didn’t grow up in an easy life. Who is Devin Strader in 'The Bachelorette' Season 21?

Devin, a 28-year-old freight company owner from Rosenberg, Texas, currently resides in Houston. He is the proprietor of F1 Freight Consultants, a full-scale, dedicated truckload and LTL service provider that began operations in March 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Devin previously worked as a Vice President of Acquisitions at Shark Logistics, a shipping firm, from 2020 to 2023. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2019.
