BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Two young men, who were arrested in connection with LSU sorority student Madison Brooks' rape case, have been released from prison. Casen Carver, 18, and Everett Lee, 28, were released after posting bond following their charges of participating in or witnessing the brutal rape of the sorority girl on January 15. After a bond hearing with Judge Brad Myers, both of them were released on Tuesday, January 24, and are required to use ankle monitors and remain on house arrest.

Kaivon Deondre Washington, Everette Lee, Casen Carver, and an unnamed 17-year-old teenager were taken into custody after the incident. Later, Lee was released on a bond of $75,000 and Carver on a bond of $50,000 bond. Washington, nephew of Lee was handed a $150,000 bond and continues to remain in jail pressed with a third-degree rape charge. The unnamed teenager, whose pre-trial bond hearing is scheduled for February 2023, remains in a juvenile detention center and is also charged with third-degree rape, according to Daily Mail. On Sunday, January 15, at 3 am, Brooks died after she was hit by a ride-share car when she was dropped off by the four men. She was picked up by the group at Reggie's bar.

A Denham Springs native, Carver went to Walker High School. Charged for participating in or witnessing the rape of Brooks, he accused the teenager and Washington of asking for sex from the victim. He reportedly told the police that the sorority girl was “very unstable on her feet, was not able to keep her balance, and was unable to speak clearly without slurring her words.”

According to the documents, Carver confessed before the officials that he "hated" the alleged attack and revealed that Brooks was not in the condition to give her consent, reported WAFB. The victim was later dropped off on Burbank Drive where she died after the ride-share car hit her.

Lee reportedly from Pine Grove, was the oldest in the group of four charged in connection with the rape case. Though he did not rape the 19-year-old girl, he was present in the car when the alleged assault took place, as per reports.

In his statement given to the police, Carver, who drove the vehicle and agreed to give her a ride, denied having met Brooks before or even knowing her. The currently released men - Carver and Lee - reportedly sat in front of the car while Washington and the unnamed teenager raped her. Carver told the two men to "stop" before she was dropped off.

According to the post-mortem reports, Brooks suffered "injuries consistent with previous sexual assault anally" and also injuries from the accident, the Daily Mail reported.
