'My Big Fat Fabulous Life': Chase and Whitney's Paris wedding plan leaves fans confused, they call it 'fake'
'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore and her now fiance, Chase Severino, are very much in love and their social media and the reality show itself are enough evidence to concur the same. However, the recent episode that aired today did see some tension flaring up between them causing Whitney to worry that at the end of this trip she will end up single.
But, as fate would have it, turns out all her worries were for nothing since they are now engaged and viewers will see a glimpse of them at the Eiffel Tower while Chase goes in for the big proposal on one knee with a ring.
Viewers who are following the show, however, have time and again called out the show for being scripted on various occasions. Whitney embodies body positivity but she still struggles on a day-to-day basis with people shaming her for the way she looks. There's definitely an overkill around this narrative and fans have been accusing the show of creating events just to spice it up.
Whitney's relationship with Chase has also been a matter of great scrutiny. Tonight's episode did see a lot happening between the duo. First, they were about to be holed up in the same room along with Whitney's business partner Ryan and Whitney was very vocal about not being okay with this. But, Chase was a cool cucumber about it and didn't have any qualms about the arrangement, none that he voiced at least.
Secondly, while in the room, he asks Ryan to leave him and Whitney alone for 30 minutes and as soon as he's out Whitney makes a phone call to her parents and Chase moves away and sits across from her. People following the show have pointed out on a Reddit thread, that Chase always looks awkward and uncomfortable around Whitney and are noticing a pattern here, where they feel that he doesn't spend much time around her and moves away from the first chance he gets.
Later in the episode when Whitney brings up a conversation about the future, Chase's looks deeply uncertain as he had made it known that he doesn't really know if he wants to have babies. Later on in the show, they are off to the champagne country and have to bike it down on a tandem bike for a little while in order to reach their destination. "Did you seem happily ride off on the tandem bike with Ryan as well? He does not want to be anywhere NEAR Whitney for extended amounts of time lol" wrote a viewer.
Whitney's chemistry with her best friend Buddy Bill has also been spoken about a lot amongst viewers. They are extremely close to each other and are very handsy, to a point that viewers wanted the both of them to give it a go. However, when Chase and Whitney got together, viewers could see there's no fire among them. "Her eyes don’t light up when she sees Chase, but they do when she’s around Buddy. I don’t think her relationship with Chase is real." wrote a viewer. Another said, "Does anybody really think they have a real relationship? Every fiber in my being screams that it’s fake. I don’t really know why. I’m not saying Whitney couldn’t get a guy like Chase, but something about it seems really phony and off."
The next episode will feature the moment when they got engaged at the Eiffel, but fans are not buying this to be real because of how fast all of this is moving. "Current episode for example. Chase says he doesn’t know if he wants to have kids and in the next 20 minutes they’re getting engaged?? They figured it all out that quickly??" read a comment.
Chase and Whitney live in different states but are planning their wedding with a lot of zeal and preparations are on in full swing. They are making up for the distance by going on a lot of trips together and also post lovely pictures together on their social media.
