We are just a few days away from the Season 5 premiere of ‘FBI’ on CBS and viewers have already planned their schedules to watch the extraordinary show. The show focuses on the crime division of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and how they solve major cases with their intellect and talents. Season 4 of the CBS police procedural drama saw Maggie (Missy Peregrym) landing up in hospital after inhaling an extremely toxic compound. The gas was odorless and colorless and can be used as a chemical weapon.

Although such situations keep on occurring on the show because the team witnesses a lot of dangerous moments during the cases they solved and the officers keep on getting seriously injured. However, this time it was different because Maggie landed up in the hospital and the reason for the character to give some time off was taken after Missy Peregrym approached the show’s creators to give her an off.

But what was the reason? Was she planning to leave the show or it was something different? Let’s take a look at why Peregrym decided to participate in a limited manner and where she is now.

Where is Missy Peregrym’s Maggie Bell now?

In February 2022, the actress who plays Maggie on the show announced her pregnancy via social media. At the time, Peregrym told showrunner Rick Eid that she is pregnant and wanted to discuss the situation. She told him that she would be taking her maternity leave and Rick had an idea about how to accommodate the actress’ request. So, how did the makers manage to tackle the situation?

In Episode 18 of the CBS series, Maggie and her close friend Omar Adom (Zeeko Zaki) were finding a man who was using a deadly gas sarin gas. The gas was a deadly compound and could be used as a chemical weapon. Maggie tracked him down and killed him, but found herself trapped in a room where the gas has been leaked. Adom tried to save her, but before he was able to take her out, Maggie passed out. In the end, it was revealed that Adom and Maggie were both in the hospital, and although Maggie was still “on her path to a full recovery”, she is still not awake.
