NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ava Michelle has been thriving in her modeling and acting career after she departed from 'Dance Moms'. Abby Lee Miller kicked off Ava from her studio which was also the end of her appearance on Lifetime show. Ava appeared in 'Dance Moms' Season 3.
Ava has achieved considerable success in modeling, including gracing the runway at the 2017 Los Angeles Fashion Week. Additionally, she was the leading actress in a Netflix original franchise film, 'Tall Girl'. The inaugural installment premiered on Netflix in 2019, followed by the sequel in 2022.
In addition to her flourishing career as a model and actor, Ava is also an entrepreneur. She is the founder of Identified Clothing, her clothing brand. Furthermore, Ava is committed to making a difference through her non-profit organization, the Devon Michael Foundation. She started the organization after the death of her brother from Fentanyl.
Why did Abby Lee Miller kick off Ava Michelle from ALDC?
Abby Lee Miller stormed out at Ava Michelle and kicked her out of the dance studio because of her physical appearance. Abby claimed that Ava was a little too tall to be part of her dance team. Notably, Ava was only 10 years old when she auditioned and earned her spot on the team.
However, during an episode 'Dance Moms', Abby claimed that Ava messed up her dance because of her long arms. However, she later compelled Ava to stand beside the second-tallest girl on the team to highlight the contrast in their heights. Additionally, Abby likened Ava to a 'praying mantis'.
Ava Michelle struggles with online bullying
'Dance Moms' star Ava Michelle was the victim of online hate and body shaming at a very young age. In an interview with People, the Lifetime show alum reflected on the negative comment. She said, "The social media bullying hit me hard."
Ava added, "The things that people can say when they’re behind a computer is just, it’s insane. And being an 11-year-old and having people saying that I was anorexic and that my mom wasn’t feeding me, it’s really hard to understand the fact that they’re not true."
