What is the 'Shark Tank' update?
Chapul Cricket Bars
In a Shark Tank update, entrepreneur Pat Crowley from Salt Lake City, Utah, updates his investor Mark Cuban about Chapul Cricket Bars, energy bars fortified with protein derived from crickets. Back in 2011, during the show's season 5, Pat walked into the tank seeking an investment of $50K for 5% equity in his protein bars business. Even though the Sharks were initially put off by the idea of consuming a protein bar made from crickets flour, they changed their mind once they took a bite of it. After a small bidding war between Robert Herjavec and Mark, the billionaire Shark bagged the deal. Chapul Cricket Bars has been doing phenomenally well since we last saw them in the tank.
