MOSCOW, IDAHO: Bryan Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on Friday, December 30, 2022, nearly a month after the slayings of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves. 1122 King Road, where the killings took place, has been the focus of several rumors ever since the murders.

Recently, a web sleuth speculated about the house rent the victims paid and claimed they "sublet" the apartment in summer. They wrote on Reddit, "Someone said they sublet it during the summer which would tend to indicate at least some of them were there the prior year. I would assume Kaylee was, as she had the best room - large and with a balcony."

The Reddit post added, "I'm not sure how they rented it whether by the room or as a whole house then splitting the rent six ways. I think they rented the house out as it was listed for $3,000/ month (ridiculous!) before they took it off Zillow. So that would mean Someone signed a lease and agreed to pay that then hit up the other five for their $$."

It's to be noted that these claims are just the latest among a slew of baseless theories that have flooded the internet ever since the killings became a topic of public discussion.

Revised death timings of the victims

According to initial estimates by authorities, the four students were killed between three and four am on November 13. However, current estimates suggest all four were killed between 4.00 and 4.25 am. According to the affidavit made public on January 5, the one-hour window has been reduced to 25 minutes. Kernodle was using TikTok at 4.12 am, indicating that she was still awake and alive, as MEAWW previously reported.

Kohberger's hearing

On January 12, Kohberger appeared in an Idaho court for a status hearing. According to his attorney Anne Taylor, who spoke with Magistrate Judge Megan Marshall, Kohberger waived his right to a prompt preliminary hearing, which would have been required within two weeks. According to reports, the preliminary hearing will begin on June 26 at 9.00 am local time.
