SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Australian crime series 'Troppo' which premiered its first season in 2022 is returning with another season on July 25, 2024.

The series is based on Candice Fox's best-selling novel 'Crimson Lake' and revolves around an ex-convict turned private detective who seeks the help of a disgraced ex-cop to solve local crimes.

Season 1 gave us a sneak peek into the traumatic pasts of the lead characters as they paired up to investigate the disappearance of a wealthy Korean man.

As 'Troppo' Season 2 awaits its digital premiere, here's what you can look forward to from the series:

Set six months from the events of Season 1's finale, Ted Conkaffey (Thomas Jane) and Amanda Pharrell (Nicole Chamoun) will pair up once again to solve a new crime in Crimson Lake.

Julian, a local retreat leader is set on fire and thrown off a cliff. His body falls on a young woman, claiming her life, who was in the woods for an intimate time with her partner.

When the bodies are found, Pip Sweeney (Zindzi Okenyo), the new cop in town, assumes they’re dealing with two lovebirds who were killed by someone close to them, with Raph Naughton (Ethan Lwin), being the prime suspect.

Convinced that Raph is innocent, his girlfriend Tayla (Miah Madden) hires Amanda and Ted to prove his innocence. The investigation will uncover a drug ring with a bizarre connection to Julian.

Ted Conkaffey's past will haunt him in 'Troppo' Season 2

'Troppo' Season 2 will also shed light on Ted and Amanda's personal journeys. Amanda will be seen trying to work up her issues while navigating her new affair. The return of Twist will add further chaos to her life.

Kelly (Radha Mitchell) and Lilly will visit Ted in Crimson Lake, but Ted's past will catch up with him, leading to deadly consequences.

How to stream 'Troppo' Season 2?

The official synopsis for 'Troppo' Season 2 reads, "Six months after Ted and Amanda solved their first murder case, the duo is now investigating a bizarre local murder and an exotic drug ring. While Amanda tangles with an old enemy and finds a new love interest, Ted’s past stalks him and his family to Crimson Lake - with deadly consequences."

'Troppo' Season 2 will premiere on July 25, 2024, on Prime Video and Amazon Freevee. All the episodes will be available to watch on the day of release.

Thomas Jane, Nicole Chamoun, Ling Cooper Tang, Angela Punch McGregor, Radha Mitchell, Simon Lyndon, and Sara West from Season 1 will return for Season 2 as well.

New actors joining the cast in Season 2 are Zindzi Okenyo, Miah Madden, Ethan Lwin, Georgina Naidu, Caroline O'Connor, and Josh Lacy.
