Early life

N.O.R.E. or Noreaga was born as Victor Santiago Jr on September 6, 1977, in New York City. He made his big debut in the hip-hop scene in 1995 with fellow Queens' rapper, Kiam "Capone" Holley. Noreaga met Capone while he was serving time for attempted murder in New York's Greenhaven Prison. After their release from prison, Noreaga and Capone began making music together as Capone-N-Noreaga. They soon became one of New York's hottest rappers duo. They dropped their debut album in 1996 titled 'The War Report'. Just as things were beginning to look up for the duo, Capone was once again sentenced to prison after he violated his parole.

Career

While waiting for his partner to be released, Noreaga began his solo journey as an artist. He released his solo debut album 'N.O.R.E.' in 1998 which went on to be certified Platinum. Encouraged by the massive success of his solo album, N.O.R.E. began pursuing a solo career and changed his stage name to N.O.R.E. In 1999, he released his second solo album 'Melvin Flynt- Da Hustler'. In 2002, he released his third album called 'God's Favorite'. His third album too became a massive success and was certified Platinum. The track, 'Nothin', from the album became one of the rapper's biggest hits in his career.

N.O.R.E. also began dabbling in reggae. In 2004, he released a single called 'Oye Mi Canto' as a tribute to his Puerto Rican background, and it became an instant success. Fueled by his success streak, N.O.R.E. released a whole reggaeton album in 2006. Sadly, it didn't attain the same level of success as his previous albums. In 2013, N.O.R.E. released the 'Student Of The Game' album and soon after that announced that he would be focusing on becoming a music executive.

N.O.R.E. net worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the rapper's net worth has been estimated to be around $2 million. Most of this money comes from his album royalties. He also began a podcast called 'Drink Champs' where he interviews famous hip-hop stars. N.O.R.E. has been married to his wife Neri for over 14 years. The couple shares three children together. The rapper keeps his personal life pretty private. However in a 2018 interview on 'The Breakfast Club', he shared his thoughts on his marriage.

He said, "You know what it is? Love is best earned or best taken when you’re hurt. You have to actually be hurt. You can’t love heaven without going through hell–without living through hell. Success isn’t good without failure. If you only have success, you’d be the most miserable person in the world. You have to fail sometimes to [appreciate it]. It’s the same thing with love. You’ve gotta love, somebody, really really for real and be hurt for you to say ‘you know what, this is it. Imma chill'”

The couple will be appearing on 'Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition' Season 16 to work through some issues in their marriage.

'Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition' Season 16 premieres on October 7 on WE tv.
