One of the most recent trends that are currently sweeping TikTok is pretty hard to miss: the so-called "smudged lipstick" trend, which has spawned several parody trends that are just as popular. It is not the most recent makeup trend to go viral, and you won't have to watch another overly complicated beauty tutorial for it.

Instead, the smudged lipstick trend began as a love letter to boyfriends but quickly became its own thing. 282.2K TikTok users have already followed this trend. Keep reading to know more about this trend.

What is the 'Smudged Lipstick' Trend?

The majority of videos begin with a person smudging and applying lipstick in front of the camera. After that, the camera pans slowly to show their partner, who has lipstick marks all over their face that look like kiss marks.

This trend is spreading a wave of positivity and love online and is intended to showcase users' affection for others, typically their favorite people. A lot of other users have also taken the opportunity to express love for their pets, which typically results in some rather confused-looking animals. At least we know these pets are getting all the affection they deserve.
