Former Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, is facing a lot of backlash on the Internet after she criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her Memorial Day tweet. Haley, who was former President Donald Trump's ambassador to the United Nations, called Harris, “Unprofessional and unfit,” after Harris tweeted, “Enjoy the long weekend.”

Harris had also earlier tweeted on Sunday morning, May 30, about the importance of Memorial Day, which comes on the last Monday of May every year. On this day, the US honors and mourns military personnel of the country who died in the line of duty. Harris wrote, “Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country. As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice.”

It is not very clear yet what Haley did not like about the 56-year-old’s tweet, but many on Twitter pointed out that she might be “jealous” while referring to her by her real name.

What is Nikki Haley's real name?

Like Harris, Haley also has connections with India as she is the daughter of Sikh immigrants from Punjab, India. She was born on January 20, 1972, in Bamberg, South Carolina, as Nimrata Nikki Randhawa Haley. She did her graduation from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and then worked for her mother's upscale clothing business, Exotica International. In 2004, she went on to become president of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

Later, she converted to Christianity and became one of the board members of the Mt Horeb United Methodist Church. But she has reportedly not left attending Sikh services out of respect for her parents' culture. Haley was chosen as the United States ambassador to the United Nations in 2016 by Trump. At the time, she said, “When the president believes you have a major contribution to make to the welfare of our nation, and to our nation's standing in the world, that is a calling that is important to heed.”

As people on Twitter slammed her for her remarks on Harris' tweet, several of them used her real name for it. One user tweeted, “I think Nimrata @NikkiHaley is jealous folks.” The second one wrote, “Let me get this straight. Nimrata is calling a brilliant black woman, who served as a pioneering DA, AG, Senator and appointed as VP unfit and unprofessional but she served under a 2x impeached reality TV star who brags about sexual assault w no prior public service b4 the WH.”

A person tweeted, “Nimrata might know a thing or two about unprofessionalism. Although she called this one wrong.” Another one said, “I think ‘Unprofessional and Unfit’ would make the perfect campaign slogan for Nikki Haley’s eventual run for President.” “@NikkiHaley aka Nimrata is the Candace Owens of the South Asian Indian community. Can someone else claim her? #AAPI #Nimrata #Nikki.”

“Nimrata Radhawa Nikki Haley is still a karen-wannabe looking to please republican Jesus (trump) #nimrataradhawa,” a tweet read and the other one added: “This was an unprofessional and unfit response from former governor and ambassador, Nimrata Randhawa (aka, Nikki Haley). We expect better.”
