Nikki Haley says Donald Trump does not 'deserve to be impeached' for Capitol riots, gets slammed for 'garbage'

'The actions of the president post-Election Day were not great. What happened on January 6th was not great. Does he deserve to be impeached? Absolutely not,' she said

Donald Trump's former ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is trending on Twitter for all the wrong reasons. She went live on air to defend her former boss' pending impeachment trial and asked America to "move on".

Speaking with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, the former South Carolina governor addressed Trump's actions leading up to the violent mob barging into the US Capitol on January 6. She said that his actions were “not his finest” and “not great”. She even acknowledged the fact that Trump's claims about the election being "stolen" by the Liberals and of widespread voter fraud were a "big lie".

"January 6th was a tough day. The actions of the president since Election Day were not his finest," Haley said. "It troubles me greatly because I am proud of the successes of the Trump Administration. Those were the right policies. That’s what our party cares about and looking to do. If you look at the foreign policy side, the strength we were able to show was really important."

And finally, she dropped the bomb. "The actions of the president post-Election Day were not great. What happened on January 6th was not great," Haley added. "Does he deserve to be impeached? Absolutely not."

Haley went on to say that all that is no "basis for impeachment" and went on to paint Trump as the victim who was unfairly targeted by the historically large bipartisan House majority that impeached him.

"The idea that there — they didn’t even have a hearing in the House. They will bring about impeachment, yet they say they are for unity. They beat him up before he got into office. They are beating him up after he leaves office. At some point, give the man a break. I mean, move on."

You can watch her clip in the following tweet. "Nikki Haley: I don’t even think there’s a basis for impeachment... Now they’re going to turn around and bring about impeachment yet they say they’re for unity... I mean at some point I mean give the man a break. I mean move on..."

Her words left many people angry. "'Give the man a break', says Nikki Haley. After all, Trump only pressured Georgia’s secretary of state to commit election fraud and then incited a mob to storm the Capitol, leading to the deaths of 5 people, including a cop. No big deal to Haley," one said.

"Nikki Haley, a long-standing Trump enabler, went on Fox to complain poor Donald is being beaten up unfairly. That he’s being victimized by a Senate trial. “I mean, at some point, I mean give the man a break. I mean move on," another added.

She is now being deemed as an opportunist. "Nikki Haley: 'The GOP can't go back to the days before Trump...' Laura Ingraham: 'So then why did you say Trump will be remembered badly?' Haley: mumbles garbage out of both sides of her mouth. The woman will say anything at anytime to advance her career," one tweeted.

And lastly, some simply spelled out the facts for her. "Nikki Haley is obsessed with portraying herself as a different kind of Republican, then being exactly the same kind of Republican. He incited an insurrection!!"
