If you thought the election campaigns of President Donald Trump and Joe Biden were intense, then you might have underestimated the situation. The run-up to the election results is proving to be even more extreme than expected.

Even though the complete results are not out yet and voters are waiting to see who their next president will be, the Donald Trump campaign has indicated that POTUS plans to “immediately” request for a recount in the battleground state of Wisconsin. AP declared that Biden has defeated Trump in Wisconsin, securing the state’s 10 electoral votes. They called Wisconsin for Biden after election officials in the state said all outstanding ballots had been counted, except for a few hundred in one township and an expected small number of provisional ballots.

The Trump campaign also announced lawsuits in Michigan and Pennsylvania. On the other hand, Biden announced the ‘Biden Fight Fund’. In a tweet, he said, “To make sure every vote is counted, we’re setting up the largest election protection effort ever assembled. Because Donald Trump doesn’t get to decide the outcome of this election — the American people do. Chip in to power the new Biden Fight Fund.”

Started on the platform ActBlue, the donation page says, “Contributions will be used in connection with federal elections, may be spent on any activity as each committee determines in its sole discretion, and will not be earmarked for any particular candidate.”

Even Kamala Harris tweeted and said, “Last night, Trump threatened to go to court to prevent all votes from being counted—but our campaign is prepared to fight back. Our work could stretch on for weeks, and we need your help. Can you donate $5 to the Biden Fight Fund today?”

According to a Fox News report, Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon also sent an email to supporters, urging them to contribute. “The president threatened to go to court to prevent the proper tabulation of votes. We are standing up the biggest and most comprehensive legal effort ever assembled.” He also said the work “could stretch on for weeks” and that it “will fund election protection efforts for Joe Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot.” Dillon added, “If he makes good on this threat, our legal team is standing by. And they will prevail.”

A person with information about the campaign told Fox News, that this move was made to be prepared to fight all of the Trump campaign’s “meritless legal challenges and shenanigans.” The person also shared with Fox News that this was not an indication that the Biden campaign believed the race would necessarily drag for a long period of time, but instead, that they will be prepared for anything.

This topic was also discussed on social media. A user tweeted, “Time to go to court and make sure everybody’s voice gets heard. Join me in supporting Biden Fight Fund via @actblue.” Another user claimed, “I just donated $50 to defend our votes for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris! Join me in supporting Biden Fight Fund to #DefendDemocracy #Vote2020.” A user stated, “We need to make sure every vote is counted, and we need your help to do it. And when we're done, Joe Biden will be our next president of the United States. Chip in to help us make it happen.” Another commented, “Now more than ever, we need an election protection effort. i normally keep this sh*t off social media but this is a crucial time to ensure that dems have the resources to fight to uphold the results.”
