The complete results are not out yet. Every voter is waiting to see who their next president will be. In the midst of this, the Donald Trump campaign has indicated that POTUS plans to “immediately” request for a recount in the battleground state of Wisconsin, reports AP. AP declared that Biden has defeated Trump in Wisconsin, securing the state’s 10 electoral votes. They called Wisconsin for Biden after election officials in the state said all outstanding ballots had been counted, except for a few hundred in one township and an expected small number of provisional ballots.

The full statement, by Bill Stepien, Trump's campaign manager, as quoted by CNN, reads, “Despite ridiculous public polling used as a voter suppression tactic, Wisconsin has been a razor thin race as we always knew that it would be. There have been reports of irregularities in several Wisconsin counties which raise serious doubts about the validity of the results. The President is well within the threshold to request a recount and we will immediately do so.” However, as per the CNN report, under Wisconsin law, a campaign can’t petition for said recount until the Wisconsin Election Commission completes the canvass from county election boards. According to the AP report, in Wisconsin, if a race is within 1 percentage point, the trailing candidate can force a recount.

Soon, Twitter users also began talking about this possible situation. A user said, “I’m gonna take Trump’s call for a recount of Wisconsin as an admission of defeat..” Another commented, “you’re telling me that trump wants a recount in wisconsin because of about a 1% difference? you lost wisconsin buddy get over it let us have biden in the house!” A user questioned, “So he wanted to stop counting ballots last night, but he wants a recount in Wisconsin? Okay then.” One concurred, “He is asking for a recount in Wisconsin?? I thought he wanted counting to stop??” One opined, “To clarify, Trump is within his rights to request a recount in Wisconsin, so long as the vote count stays within 1%, which it will. He can’t formally request one until 10 days after the election though, and that point, it may not matter. Numbers are favoring Biden currently.” One alleged, “Ohhhhh they want a recount in Wisconsin too.. these people it either goes their way or no way, billionaires think they own this country.”

Earlier, as reported by, MEAWW, in a surprising address to the media, the 74-year-old president proclaimed: “We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election.” Not just that, he also added, “We are going to the Supreme Court... I don't want them adding ballots at 4 am.” Wrongly declaring himself the winner of the election, he indicated he wanted the vote counting to stop. “To me, this is a very sad moment and we will win this. And as far as I’m concerned, we already have,” he said.

The AP report notes that the United States presidency is dangling in the balance. Trump and his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, are fighting for three familiar battleground states — Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. These could prove crucial in determining who wins the White House.
