SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: The twin sisters and social media stars Haley and Hanna Cavinder will be in the limelight again as the Miami Hurricanes seek to achieve another March Madness stunner. The 22-year-old twins have 4.5 million followers on a joint TikTok account and more than a million cumulatively on Instagram. They are quite formidable on the basketball court as well.

The Cavinder sisters of South Bend, Indiana, began college at Fresno State and were both All-Mountain West players. The duo transferred to Miami last offseason, where their recruitment became ensnared in controversy.

What was the controversy about?

Billionaire Miami booster John Ruiz, who is known for inking Hurricane athletes to massive NIL deals to endorse his business, invited the twins for dinner at his home and tweeted about it. The NCAA, as a result, deemed this dinner to constitute “impermissible contact.” Miami head coach Katie Meier served a three-game suspension and the program got hit with other minor penalties.

Attorney Darren Heitner told New York Post on June last year that the Cavinder twins had already grossed over $1 million in NIL deals less than halfway through 2022.

“A lot of people like to let us know about it,” Haley Cavinder told the outlet about what they hear from their haters about their social media dominance. “But we’ll see them on the court.” She added, “People forget that before COVID happened, and before we blew up on TikTok, we were just basketball players trying to get a college scholarship together and achieve our goals. Basketball has always been the main thing."

Why are the Cavinder twins popular?

Hanna and Hayley have become hugely popular for their basketball trick shots, amazingly in-sync dance moves, and for their hilarious jokes about being identical twins. Although the twins have had their TikTok account since 2019, Hanna and Haley started rapidly gaining followers in the latter half of 2020 when they started posting videos of them dribbling balls to popular TikTok songs, earning them viral success. Their most popular video has more than 27 million views.

The sisters now post on their YouTube vlog channel where they’ve earned more than 85,000 subscribers and document their day-to-day lives as athletes, what they eat, who they socialize with, and where they travel.

Cavinder twins net worth

Besides the social media platforms, the Cavinder twins are also leading the women’s college basketball scene in terms of fame, net worth, and more. They sit firmly as the richest NCAA women’s basketball players with over 20 huge deals, which include the likes of WWE, Grammarly, Six Star Pro Nutrition, Boost Mobile, Gopuff, PSD Underwear, Eastbay, and more.

Haley and Hanna reportedly have a net worth of up to $5 million USD. They rake in roughly $1.7 million per year with their current endorsements. Social media platforms also contribute a lot to their net worth.  Alone on TikTok, with their 5.5 + million followers, they are estimated to earn between $70-100k per post due to the TikTok creator fund. They also offer their services over on Cameo alongside this where they charge $75 per personalized message.
