A new "anti-wrinkle straw" is currently trending on TikTok. The anti-wrinkle straw trend has received some attention from skin care professionals. When it comes to anti-aging, there are a few common concerns. In order to prevent fine lines and dark spots, people who are self-conscious about face wrinkles may choose to wear more sunscreen or try other methods.

There is now a debate about whether drinking through straws like the ones on the tumbler can cause wrinkles. People are divided on TikTok's most recent anti-wrinkle obsession.

What is an 'anti-wrinkle straw'?

Some have noted that frequent usage of Stanley tumblers can result in wrinkles around the mouth due to the prevalence of reusable bottles with built-in straws. Some TikTokers advise adopting "anti-wrinkle" straws, which reportedly work by lessening the puckering motion necessary to sip with a conventional straw to prevent any future lip wrinkles.

While some view the straw as a quirky and straightforward switch, others are more dubious and believe the entire situation to be a con.

Does 'anti-wrinkle straw' work?

Anti-wrinkle straws, according to Dr Joshua Zeichner, Director of Cosmetic & Clinical Research in Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, are probably not very effective. “Using a straw can contribute to wrinkling around the mouth as the skin around the lips fold,” Zeichner said, life savvy reported.

According to Zeichner, the "-wrinkle straws" themselves are "not completely foolproof, as there is some folding of the skin around the mouth when using them." They also need to be cleaned and carried around at all times.

In addition, you wouldn't be certain that it's worthwhile after all that effort. On TikTok, several users have argued that there isn't any verified research connecting straw use to wrinkles and that it would take a lot of straw use to develop such pronounced lines in the first place. Others wonder why adults use straws in such a dramatic way as the easier solution is just to use a gentler motion.
