'That's husband-and-wife thing': Ben Affleck reveals what he whispered in Jennifer Lopez's ear at Grammys
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck has disclosed what he discussed during his seeming 'argument' with his wife Jennifer Lopez at the Grammy Awards last month. The 50-year-old 'Live by Night' star became a meme at the awards show because of his miserable facial expressions.
There were rumors that Affleck and his wife Jennifer Lopez had been having a lot of arguments and that the heated fight had been captured on camera during the awards show. Despite how uncomfortable he appeared to be, he admitted in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that the two enjoyed their evening together.

'I had a good time at the Grammys'
“I had a good time at the Grammys,” Affleck explained. “My wife was going and I thought: ‘Well, there’ll be good music. It might be fun.’ At movie award shows, it’s speeches and, like, sound-mixing webinars. But I thought this would be fun.”
The 'Gone Girl' actor then commented on the widely-shared clip of him and Lopez from the occasion, in which they appeared to be arguing. When the pair realized that Grammys host Trevor Noah was there and that the camera was focused on them, as seen in the aired film, they diverted their attention to the comedian.
'They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling'
What Affleck actually murmured in her ear when she answered him made it plain that it was entirely based on another matter. “I was like: ‘Oh, God.’ They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling,” he recalled about the moment Noah sat next to him. “I leaned into her and I was like: ‘As soon they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor.’ She goes: ‘You better f****** not leave.’ That’s a husband-and-wife thing.”
He continued by outlining why he had been confused at the awards ceremony. “I mean, some of it is, I’m like: ‘All right, who is this act?’ Like, I don’t keep up. My wife does, obviously. And yeah, it is your wife’s work event," he said. He continued to acknowledge that his facial expressions had been captured on events before, "And I’ve gone to events and been pissed off. I’ve gone and been bored."
'I’ve gone to award shows and been drunk, a bunch'
He said although he has been to award shows drunk, during the Grammy event he wasn't, " I’ve gone to award shows and been drunk, a bunch. Nobody ever once said I’m drunk. [But at the Grammys] they were like, “He’s drunk.” And I thought that's interesting. That raises a whole other thing about whether or not it’s wise to acknowledge addiction because there’s a lot of compassion, but there is still a tremendous stigma, which is often quite inhibiting. I do think it disincentivizes people from making their lives better."
