LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prime is focussing on expanding its content catalog while Disney+ is budgeting and dropping the high-rated channel's famous shows. When 'Swarm's first trailer dropped fans were stoked seeing it, they were waiting with bated breaths for the series to drop. Two Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards winner, Donald Glover has created the series with 'Atlanta' writer, Janine Nabers. The series has an ensemble cast starting from, 'Show Me a Hero' actress, Dominique Fishback, 'Little Mermaid' star's sister, Chloe Bailey, to 'Snowfall's Damson Idris. The series tells the story of Dre, a young woman who is obsessed with a fictional pop star (whose oeuvre and aesthetic are very similar to that of American singer Beyonce), with a fanbase known as "The Swarm" (with Beyonce’s fan base also known as the ‘Bey Hive’). The show is a dive into Dre's life, her fandom, and how it takes her to dark, unexpected places.

What day and time will 'Swarm' release? And everything else you need to know about horror series

When and Where is 'Swarm' coming out?

The horror series is set to premiere the entire first season exclusively on Prime Video on March 17, 2023. Prior to the worldwide streaming release, it will first premiere at SXSW on March 10. The series will release all seven episodes together on March 17, with each episode set to have a runtime of about 60 minutes.

Trailer

The first Swarm teaser was released last month by the streaming giant, Prime Video. It opens up with the protagonist Dre (Dominique Fishback), who is glued to a TV screen showing a female pop star. The dialogue of a key question, "Who is your favorite artist?", repeats over many ominous scenes of her alone while intercut with the glitz and glamour of the singer she seems to adore. The teaser begins to escalate with the rising sound of buzzing bees before ending with the disturbing sight of a puddle of blood that is mopped away by a dancing woman. Not much is given away in the short sequence, but it certainly teases the surreal and uneasy elements of horror that seem to permeate the series.
