LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The highly-anticipated DC Universe movie, 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods', the sequel to David F Sandberg's 'Shazam!' is scheduled for release in theaters. This time, Billy Batson and his siblings will have to battle the Daughters of Atlas to save the world.
Sandberg is the director while Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan wrote the screenplay. It is based on the DC character Shazam. New Line Cinema, DC Studios, the Safran Company and Seven Bucks Productions produced the film, which was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' is the DC Extended Universe's 12th installment.

'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' was initially slated for release on December 21, 2022, but was delayed. It will now release in the US on Friday, March 17.

In 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods', while Billy Batson and his foster siblings are trying to balance their superhero responsibilities and living like children, Anthea, Kalypso and Hespera, the Daughters of Atlas, pose a threat to their life and the world. As Billy takes their powers for granted, the superheroes must prevent the Daughters of Atlas from using a weapon that might destroy the world for which they must travel to make peace with the Gods.

In 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods', Zachary Levi will return as Shazam, with Asher Angel as Billy Batson. He will be joined by Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman and Adam Brody as his superhero form, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi and Ross Butler as the superhero, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena and DJ Cotrona as the superhero and Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley and Meagan Good as her superhero form. Grace Fulton will now play both Mary Bromfield and her superhero form. Marta Milans and Cooper Andrew will reprise their roles as Rosa and Victor Vásquez, respectively, and Djimon Hounsou will return as the Wizard. Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren play the Daughters of Atlas.
What is the buzz around ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’?
‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ has had several release dates since it was first announced in 2019. It was originally scheduled to be released on April 1, 2022, but it was pushed back to November 4, 2022, and then to June 2, due to Covid-related production delays. It was later scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022, but is now set to hit theaters on March 17.
With a runtime of 130 minutes, the movie will be just a few minutes shorter than its predecessor. Hardcore DC fans are excited to see the movie in theaters because the trailer does seem lighthearted and comedic, though everyone is conscious that the stakes are quite high with the allure of superhero heroes slowly fading.
