Was there a third person present in Nancy Pelosi's home when David DePape attacked her husband Paul?
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Police spoke to the media on Friday, October 28, about the vicious attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul at the couple’s home in San Francisco. During the briefing, authorities indicated that apart from the prime suspect, an unknown third person was also present in the house when Paul was attacked.
“When the officers arrived and knocked on the front door of the residence this morning the door was opened by someone inside and the officers observed through the open door, Mr Pelosi and the suspect Mr DePape inside the entryway of the home,” San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said during the briefing, according to Politico.

This excerpt, which was shared on social media, ignited speculation that there may have been a third person involved in the traumatic attack. However, the SFPD on Monday, October 31, quashed all these speculations and confirmed that there were only two people in the Pelosi’s home at the time of the break-in: Paul Pelosi and the suspect, 42-year-old David DePape, who is facing charges of attempted murder, elder abuse and burglary.

The incident took place on Friday, October 28, when DePape broke into Pelosi’s San Francisco home and attacked Paul with a hammer. The attack left Paul with a skull fracture and severe injuries. Giving an update on Paul’s health, Pelosai said, "Please know that the prayers and warm wishes from so many are a comfort to our family and are helping Paul make progress with his recovery. We are grateful for the quick response of law enforcement and emergency services, and for the life-saving medical care he is receiving."
The suspect is said to have broken into the Pelosi residence through a sliding glass door at the back of the house. Aerial footage showed shattered glass panes at their front entrance. Investigators said that the attacker was originally looking for the Speaker herself and shouted, "Where's Nancy? Where's Nancy?" when he broke into the house. During the conference, police revealed that Paul was able to contact the police at his $6M San Francisco home at 2.27 am by dialing 911 from his mobile, even though his assailant was still inside the house, The Daily Mail reported.
