'Welcome to Plathville': Olivia tells Moriah about her miscarriage amid safe sex talk
For the kids on 'Welcome to Plathville', life is not as easy as it seems -- living conservatively and religiously often implies that you are restricted from gaining access to certain things deemed necessary in the real world. Moriah Plath has always been appreciative of Olivia, her thanksgiving message to Olivia proves how influenced she is: "Olivia thank you for being there for me in the times when Iโve needed you most. I am blessed to know you for the real and beautiful you and you certainly know me for the wild and crazy girl I am." And the girls try and catch up as much as they can much to the displeasure of Kim and Barry.
In fact, for Micah and Moriah, moving out young has given them a bit of an advantage in understanding how the world works. Even concerning Lydia, there is hope, as she is starting to see how overbearing her parents can be, although it remains unknown if she will do something to better her situation. And finally, there is Ethan and Olivia, who got the short end of the stick.

Ethan and Olivia have soon begun to acknowledge that marrying young didn't allow them to explore their own lives in ways they should have. Combined with their religious upbringing, that often meant that they had to figure it all out on their own. Olivia, who maintains a good relationship with Micah and Moriah, met to spend some girl time with the latter. During this time, they spoke about sex, where Olivia opened up about how it was seen as a bad thing and that losing your virginity meant you are no longer whole. Even Moriah mentioned that she thought something as simple as sleeping on a couch with your boyfriend could get you pregnant. Fans were absolutely shocked by their conversation.
"Wow Don't do XYZ or you'll be considered a prostitute #welcometoplathville" tweeted a fan. "whelp, I guess this answers a LOT of questions the viewing audience had that we were probably keeping to ourselves. #WelcomeToPlathville" pointed out another. "Olivia really has been like that big supportive sister that Moriah has never had and its honestly so heartwarming to see. #WelcomeToPlathville" added a fan. "Moriah was really deprived of an education because she thought falling asleep could lead to pregnancy #WelcomeToPlathville" tweeted a fan.

Olivia also brought up the question of birth control, as the two were discussing sex, to make sure Moriah was responsible. Moriah said that she had found good birth control and was on the same. Olivia mentioned that birth control resulted in her hormones going all over the place and thus, she opted to get off it. However, post that, she did get pregnant and even miscarried. Olivia opened up about how she was relieved that she did because at the time, she was not ready to have children and neither was Ethan. Speaking up about a sensitive topic such as this one and being honest about the same is not easy, but fans appreciated her ability to be open.
"Proud of Olivia for opening up about her miscarriage!! Moriah was the only person she felt secure about talking about it with! #welcometoplathville ", added another. "Olivia is really brave to put all this out there about the miscarriage and how she felt about it. That took guts. #welcometoplathville" stated a fan.
