Lydia details secret romance, says no privacy at home in Welcome to Plathville

Kim sat Lydia down to discuss the new man in her life, while fans grew tired of her mom's controlling ways

For the older kids on 'Welcome to Plathville', the past few seasons have seen them stand up to their parents and fight back regarding how they were raised. For the Plath kids, it seems as though Kim and Barry's choices as parents have truly set them back in life as they now venture into the world and reclaim their freedom.

While Micah and Moriah have managed to strike the right balance between family and independence, Ethan and Olivia haven't been as lucky. Now, their marriage might be in jeopardy. However, they aren't the only Plaths who see the error of their parents' ways -- Lydia seems to be coming around as well.

Out of all the older Plath kids, Lydia has always been the quieter, more god-fearing one, who has chosen to root all her choices in her faith, much like her parents would want her to. But now, as she grows older, she has begun to crave some freedom as well. Lydia has been romantically involved with a mystery man and although not much is known about him, she did disclose that they met during a religious conference years ago. She didn't take their connection too seriously back then, as they both were still very young. However, when she received her own cell phone, the two began talking and have developed a close relationship, one that she hopes can evolve.

Kim, on the other hand, has been openly snooping through her daughter's messages and sits her down for a talk. She isn't very supportive of the situation, as she thinks they both are too young and barely know each other. For Lydia, she isn't too thrilled that her mother has no respect for her privacy but understands her concern, seeing that as long as she is under her parents' roof, she is answerable to them to an extent. Fans could see Lydia's discomfort while having this conversation with her mother and truly felt for her

Hope never takes advantage of her but eventually it will happen it's part of life they need her to let her experience all that they can't prevent that from stopping we all go tru at least one in life #WelcomeToPlathville" argued another.  "Can we start a http://change.org petition to #FreeLydia? If someone needs her closet to be open to Narnia it's her. #WelcomeToPlathville" tweeted another.  "Lydia you are right 17-year-old parents are not looking at the text messages or calling people back from the phone log granted a lot of us didn't grow up the way you did but still #WelcomeToPlathville" agreed a fan. 

Fans were also done with Kim's behavior, seeing that she has now begun stifling Lydia by not giving her basic freedom or privacy. "Kim: the ball is in your court Also Kim: but you're not going to communicate with the phone we gave you #welcometoplathville" pointed out another. "Kim is the sickest, mentally deranged person on any TLC show bc she is legit stifling and controlling minors minds,—her children—and experiences to suit her dysfunctional, abusive agenda. She's a monster. #WelcomeToPlathville" stated another. "Why does Kim ask Lydia what's on her mind when we all know she snoops in her prayer closet 24/7 #WelcomeToPlathville" stated a fan. "By the end of this season, Lydia will be moving in with Micah and Moriah because she'll of had enough Kim by then #welcometoplathville" tweeted a fan.
