'We Own This City' completed its six-episode run on HBO and the serialized version of the true events based on Justin Fenton's non-fiction book of the same name was a roaring hit with the audience. For those unaware, the series is based on the corrupt cop department and follows the Gun Trace Task Force (GTTF) of Baltimore led by Wayne Jenkins (Bernthal).

The highly decorated unit was also equally corrupt with the elite plainclothes team being involved in robberies, extortion, and other crimes. The finale saw the fate of the officers part of the GTTF, and the hour-long episode also shared details that followed once the federal investigation was complete. Fans were positive with their responses and gave due appreciation for Bernthal's performance.

"Hell of a finale #WeOwnThisCity," one of the tweets read. A fan gave it a solid review. "#WeOwnThisCity 7.5/10 overall, wish it was a longer mini series." With much of the spotlight on Jenkins, fans also shared their two cents, "Looks like Jenkins got hit with more time for reselling the drugs. In the end, another tale of how these criminals don't face consequences for their brutality or the murders they commit--just when they get so f**king greedy, it's impossible to cover up. #WeOwnThisCity."

"You have to constantly remind yourself that this is based on a true story as you watch. No one wants to think the “good guys” are actually out here doing these things. #WeOwnThisCity," a fan wrote. "Last episode of #WeOwnThisCity is excellent but those last 20 minutes are beyond astonishing! What a great series!": a fan commented. "Episode 6 of #WeOwnThisCity was PHENOMENAL! City corruption at the HIGHEST levels. I'd love David Simon to give the Kilpatrick administration the same mini-series treatment," another viewer hoped.

"Just finished #WeOwnThisCity. Wow, it just makes me distrust the cops even more than I already do. If you hadn't seen it, then you should watch it. I didn't know the corruption in Baltimore was so bad," one of the fans exclaimed.

The rave reviews continued to trickle in, with one fan writing, "Just finished #WeOwnThisCity -it’s an amazingly rich and complex show. @jonnybernthal is amazing as Wayne Jenkins but the star of the show for me was @JamieHector. Hands down the best TV performance of the past 5 years. Bravo sir."

"Jon Bernthal is a beast #WeOwnThisCity was boss. @hbomax always killing it. They used to hook us reps up too! I miss them," a fan tweeted. "We Own This City was A+ from top to bottom. The level of acting, writing, and directing was @jonnybernthal deserves all the flowers and awards! Now time to listen to his podcast. #WeOwnThisCity," another tweet read.
