WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN: Darrell Brooks has been sentenced to six life sentences without the possibility of extended supervision after being found guilty on the same number of counts of intentional homicide. Brooks had to be removed from the courtroom on at least two separate occasions for being disruptive for the purpose of delaying the trial. The judge broke down in tears after reading stories of the victims.

The 40-year-old suspect was convicted after a circuit court jury in Waukesha, Wisconsin, found him guilty of as many as 76 criminal charges, including the six counts of intentional homicide, on October 26. Those in the courtroom applauded as the sentence was handed down.

Brooks drove his SUV through a Christmas Parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing six people and injuring over 40. The SUV reportedly knocked down and injured several people including youngsters waving pompoms and a group of 'Dancing Grannies'. Brooks was later found by cops with the key to a Ford vehicle. He happens to be a career criminal and rapper who performs under the stage name MathBoi Fly.

Judge Jennifer Dorow read the victims' names and signified she was giving Brooks "one life sentence for" each of them. Before the sentencing, Brooks said he was mentally ill since he was young and had no plans to drive into the parade. Breaking down, Dorrow said, "It's hard not to think about what I watched and not have this reaction."

Brooks had been representing himself and avoided discussing himself in the first person. The victims of the tragedy were Jackson Sparks, 8, Tamara Durand, 52, Jane Kulich, 52, Leanna “Lee” Owen, 71, Virginia Sorenson, 79, and Wilhelm Hospel, 81.

Social media users came together to say Brooks deserved what he got, with one user saying, "Darell Brooks got 1,000+ years in prison. May he and his soul never rest in peace." "But he’ll never take another innocent life, nor assault another woman. I can live with that," one user said. "Serves him right. #goodbye to the Waukesha parade terrorist!" wrote one user.

"He literally killed 6 people and injured dozens more. He get exactly what he deserved," one user said, while another wrote, "Darrell Brooks sentence: 6 life sentences + 300+ years added. No joke. He will never get out again. Nobody on this planet except for Darrell expected anything else." One user wrote, "Consecutive six life sentences PLUS 859 years for Darrell Brooks with no chance of parole. As many victims stated, it's a shame Wisconsin doesn't have the death penalty anymore but that's quite a sentence. 5'8" 140 lbs of him won't make it long. gRoUnZ".
