On February 2, 2021, two FBI Agents, Laura Schwartzenberger, 43, and Daniel Alfin, 36, were killed as they were serving a warrant in South Florida. At the time of the shooting, the agents, who specialized in child porn investigations, were serving a warrant related to a case involving alleged crimes against children. The suspect was reportedly found dead inside his apartment after opening firing at the FBI agents. Law enforcement sources claimed that the suspect had shot himself. President Joe Biden and his administration grieved the death of Schwartzenberger and Alfin, where the president said, “My heart aches for the families.”

Several people on social media shared Biden’s emotions and paid their heartfelt tribute to the FBI agents who lost their lives on duty. That being said, some are now claiming that Alfin was apparently involved a probe into Hunter Biden’s laptop.

The New York Times reported in 2020 that Hunter Biden left his laptop at a repair shop in Delaware in April 2019. The repair shop owner claimed back then that "he is legally blind and could not be sure whether the man was Hunter Biden". Fox News had also reported in October 2020 that the FBI had subpoenaed Hunter Biden’s laptop and hard drive in 2019. Multiple federal law enforcement officials and two separate government officials confirmed the authenticity of the documents obtained by the news outlet. The documents were reportedly signed by FBI Special Agent Joshua Wilson.

One of the said documents was designated as an FBI “Receipt for Property” form, which reportedly detailed the FBI’s investigation with the owner of ‘The Mac Shop’, who reported the laptop’s contents to the officers. The document had a reference number, 272D, which as per the FBI’s website, refers to money laundering. “The FBI cannot open a case without predication, so they believed there was predication for criminal activity,” a government official was quoted by Fox News in 2020. “This means there was sufficient evidence to believe that there was criminal conduct.”

The government official added that if a criminal case was opened and subpoenas were issued, then it had a high possibility that both the laptop and the hard drive reportedly contained some “fruits of criminal activity”. The FBI had declined to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation into the laptop, reported Fox News. Even Joe Biden's presidential campaign had refuted all such claims.

Was Daniel Alfin involved in Hunter Biden’s Laptop case?

Several people on Twitter have allegedly made a connection between Alfin and Hunter Biden’s laptop case. One Twitter user wrote: “Both FBI agents Killed in Sunrise Florida, Daniel Alvin and Laura Schwartzenberger, were also involved in the Hunter Biden Laptop case. I am stunned and sickened beyond words. THESE IS BEYOND COINCIDENCE !” Another wrote: “Daniel Alfin was a FBI Special Agent who was investigating on Hunter Biden's laptop. On that laptop there are many pedopornographic images. Dan Alfin was killed 2 days ago. In a normal world, the name of Hunter Biden should be on top of the suspects lists.”

There is no evidence to prove these claims that Alfin was working on a purported investigation into a laptop that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden. At the same time, Hunter Biden has never confirmed the existence of a laptop or whether it was left in a Delaware repair shop or if it was in possession of the FBI. Even the Justice Department has not made available any documents that would confirm such rumors.

In a press conference, FBI Miami Special Agent-in-Charge George Piro noted that Alfin had been assigned to FBI Miami since 2017 and worked on crimes against children violations for over six years, suggesting over a 1,000 miles distance between Alfin’s posting and Hunter Biden’s rumored laptop investigation. Meanwhile, even Lead Stories had conducted an online search regarding the mentions of Daniel Alfin with Hunter Biden. They found that there is no mention of the late FBI agent with the president’s son that pre-dated the horrifying events that took place on February 2, 2021, making all the recent online claims possibly incorrect.
