WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA: A man whose wife was killed by a hit-and-run motorist while driving to Winter Haven's Christmas boat parade over the weekend is asking the driver to come forward. "Quit cowering and hiding like a coward," Harold Hagan remarked. Kelly Hagan, Harold Hagan's new wife, was crossing Lake Howard Drive with her companions at about 5.30 pm on Saturday, December 4, when she was hit by a vehicle.

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol have little information other than a description of the vehicle that struck Kelly Hagan - a silver Dodge Caliber with Virginia tags. "She didn’t deserve to be hit and run over. The guy (or woman) didn’t even attempt to stop. There were no skid marks or nothing," Harold Hagan told FOX. The report said that Kelly was on her way to the Christmas boat parade.

Debbie Mason, one of Kelly Hagan's closest friends, is still in disbelief, "I just feel like I am walking through a nightmare, and somebody should wake me up," she told the station. Kelly Hagan's family is yet to recover from the loss of her 29-year-old son Andrew who was hit and killed in Philadelphia in June. Kelly had married two weeks later. "I can’t fathom somebody hitting someone, and just keep going," "I can’t fathom that she is gone. I just feel like I am walking through a nightmare, and somebody should wake me up."

On December 4, Florida Highway Patrol said, the 59-year-old woman was walking crossing the roadway, east of 15th Street NW when she was struck by an unknown car soon before 7. pm  The pedestrian was killed on the spot. According to troopers, the motorist who struck her fled the scene. However, the suspect hasn't been traced yet. Kelly's husband, Harold Hagan, was there when it happened. He told WTSP they were hanging out by the lake with some of their friends. “That car had to have been going 60 miles per hour and it hit her so hard it knocked her out of her shoes," he said.

Kelly's daughter, Ashley Grabowski, said six months ago, her brother was hit and killed by a car. She said losing her mother to a similar incident has been unimaginable. “She had so many things to continue doing and she was so happy and to just take that from somebody, it's not fair," Grabowski said. “She did a lot growing up, she would pretty much take in any kid that needed a meal or a roof over their head."
