Actress Vivica A Fox has finally said her piece regarding the infamous 2022 Oscar slap. During her appearance on 'The Wendy Williams Show' on Wednesday, June 1, she addressed the most-talked-about event (then) and even held back tears as she expressed her love for both the Smiths. The incident resurfaced after Jada Pinkett Smith commented on it during her Red Table Talk episode on Wednesday, June 1. Alopecia was the main angle of the episode, which eventually led to her comments on the Oscar incident.

During her Red Table Talk episode, she said, "About Oscar night. My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile. With the state of the world today, we need 'em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever." 'The Matrix actress' continued talking about Will Smith, "Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years — and that's [to] keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening." Her comments did NOT sit well with Vivica Fox. While she appreciated the Smiths and owed her career to them, she did ask for more accountability from Jada. She even mentioned that Chris Rock was essentially assaulted.

The famous incident occurred in March 2022 during the 94th Oscar ceremony. Actor and comedian Rock said, "I love you, Jada. G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it." This rubbed the Smiths the wrong way and Will Smith marched his way to the stage and smacked Rock. As a result, Will, 57, was banned from future ceremonies for 10 years. However, Will went on to win the Best Actor Award for 'King Richard' and publicly apologized for his behavior, saying the joke was about Jada's medical condition and was too much for him to bear.

Vivica A Fox calls out Jada Pinkett Smith

The 57-year-old actress, on The Wendy Williams Show, said, "This is going to be difficult for me. These are my peers. I've done a movie with both of them. 'Set It Off' with Jada and 'Independence Day' with Will Smith, which absolutely changed my life. When I saw this video last night, it made me cry, I'll be very honest with you guys," she emotionally shared. "I really felt to be a partner to Will Smith who's career basically took a crumble that night. We were all rooting for Will Smith that night — Oscar night — we wanted him to win. Will Smith that night as far as I was concerned was going to be crowned this generation's Sidney Poitier, which is a huge honor."

Fox continues explaining Will's position more than Jada who went the extra mile to protect his wife's honor, who has previously accepted that she was in an entanglement with someone other than Smith. She said, "Will Smith was defending her honor, that's the reason he walked on stage and slapped because he felt like his wife had been offended so for me to see no accountability as a partner."

Vivica then continues to explain that the 2022 Oscars night was all about the African-American community which might never see the light of day again. She said, "Also, let's not forget, Chris Rock was assaulted. We cannot forget that for basically telling a joke that I really felt wasn't that bad. Let's not forget the show was executive produced by Will Packer, an African American man. This night was a night of African American and diversity for brown and black people. That now will forever be scarred. I have love for the Smiths. I know their children. I've watched them grow up," she said. "I just wish we could have just a little more accountability and for it to not seem so self-righteous on Jada's part and that's my feelings."
