'We need them both': Jada Smith wants Chris Rock to 'heal' with Will Smith after Oscar slap
Jada Pinkett Smith has spoken out regarding her husband Will Smith's feud with Chris Rock, expressing her desire for the two to "reconcile" their differences. After he slapped the comedian at the 2022 Oscars after a joke he made about his wife's baldness, the actress opened up about her tumultuous marriage.
On June 1, Wednesday's edition of her Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk, Jada expressed her hope that the two can put the incident behind them. "This is a really important Red Table Talk on alopecia. Considering what I've been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories," Jada said. "I'm using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it's like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is."

The Matrix actress then addressed the Oscar slap, saying she hopes the "men have an opportunity to heal" from the incident. "The state of the world today, we need them both. And we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening," Jada concluded.
Will stormed the stage after Chris, 57, made a badly-received joke regarding Jada's hair loss during the March 27 event. When the SNL star compared her to GI Jane, the 50-year-old, who suffers from alopecia, rolled her eyes. "Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me," Chris stated in disbelief, on stage, after the confrontation. After Will walked back to his seat after slapping Chris, he yelled at the comic, saying, "Leave my wife's name out of your f****** mouth!"

Will, the 53-year-old movie star returned to the stage shortly after the unexpected slap to claim his Best Actor award for his major part in the film 'King Richard.' Since then, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has kept a quiet profile, fearful that his career may be cancelled as he was widely condemned for his violent behaviour. Will resigned from the Academy after admitting his acts were "shocking, painful, and inexcusable."
Jada stated that she would discuss the issue on a future episode of Red Table Talk. A message appeared at the beginning of a previous episode: "The Smith family has been focusing on deep healing. Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared when the time calls. Until then the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring, and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest."
