Things are heating up across Scandinavia as we speak. Olaf the Stout offers Bjorn Ironside the chance to become the king of all of Norway in exchange for the release of King Harald, which is not only shocking to see or hear but also quite surprising to Bjorn himself.

He has just been crowned the king of Kattegat and this was his first raid, which, not to mention, failed miserably. And then he is suddenly offered the kingship of the entire country.

This is something the people of Norway or the Vikings have never seen before. Perhaps things are moving a bit too fast for Ragnar junior.

However, being a Viking, power is something he will not be able to resist and as the trailer shows, Bjorn takes up Olaf on his offer and gets ready to be elected.

All the kings and Jarls arrive at Harald's kingdom for the momentous day — an event no one in Norway had ever seen before. However, looking at the preview, we also have a theory that things might not just turn out to be what they seem.

Here's why. Let's think of King Harald Finehair for once. After all, it was his life's ambition to become the king of all of Norway. He might be a crooked man, but he is a valiant warrior nevertheless.

He had wronged Ragnar and his family quite a few times, but he also reached out to Bjorn when he needed manpower to fight Ivar and take back Kattegat. He has joined Bjorn and his brothers for raids and we have seen his fighting spirit.

Harald is ambitious, strategic, and more experienced than Bjorn, which makes him perfect to be the king. However, if he has to lose his dream to a new ruler like Bjorn, it is not going to go down well for him.

And we suspect he might pose a threat to Bjorn and/or Olaf on Election Day. There is also the possibility of Olaf turning back on his words. Just because he sounded quite rational and thoughtful about the future of his country, does not mean that there's no hidden agenda.

He has been known to be quite a strategic politician and would do anything to stay in power. Sneak a peek at the upcoming episode of 'Vikings'.

In simpler words, the election of the King of Norway might just turn out to be above and beyond a monumental event in history! 'Vikings' Season 6 airs every Wednesday, 10 pm, only on History Channel.
