LONDON, UK: A viral TikTok video captured the shocking moment a woman confronted a King's Guard for "pushing" her at the Horse Guards Parade in London. The footage shows the woman standing in the guard's way, holding a can of Pringles, while other onlookers maintained a respectful distance.

Despite being asked to step back, the woman persisted in standing close to the guard, leading to a confrontation. When the guard attempted to pass, the woman moved even closer, prompting him to shout "make way" and used his arm to move the woman aside, leaving her furious.

Infuriated, she retaliated by shoving her can of Pringles toward the guard, seeking validation from the crowd. However, a bystander pointed out, "He asked you to move and you didn't do it." The woman continued her outburst, claiming she had "got a broken arm" and berating both the guard and a cop who arrived on the scene. Eventually, she left after several minutes of argument.

The King's Guards are renowned for their unwavering commitment to their duty of protecting St James's Palace and Buckingham Palace, irrespective of any obstruction they may encounter. Many TikTok users were enraged by the women's lack of respect for the King's Guard with one saying, "The King's Guards have a job to do and some people need to respect them all," per Daily Mail. Another weighed in, "I still can't believe she wasn't arrested."

Similar incidents have occurred in the past. In a separate incident, another tourist experienced the consequences of disregarding the guard's warning signs. A King's Guard horse bit a woman's ponytail as she posed for a photo, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe distance from the animals on duty. The animal, ridden by a soldier from the Blues and Royals, was mounted next to a sign warning visitors, "Beware! Horses may kick or bite."

What is the King's Guard?

The King's Guard is a group of soldiers responsible for safeguarding Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace in London, England. These guards play a crucial role in maintaining the security and ceremonial traditions associated with the British monarchy. While on sentry duty, the guards are traditionally expected to remain stationary for two hours at a time, followed by a four-hour break. Every 10 minutes, they perform a series of ceremonial movements, including coming to attention, sloping their arms and marching 15 paces across their designated area.

The guards are required to fulfill their duties regardless of the weather conditions and must adhere to strict regulations. For instance, they are prohibited from grinning or laughing, as such behavior can result in a £200 ($252.78) fine. In general, guards are not allowed to engage in conversations with the public. However, there are exceptions to this rule, particularly when individuals obstruct their path or pose a potential threat. In such cases, guards may shout warnings to prompt people to move or take appropriate action.
