Has the monotony of self-isolation got you down? Never fear, Syfy's got you covered with a killer new sci-fi series that's sure to knock your socks off.

Say hello to Elida (Adriyan Rae), Amae (Alex McGregor) and Isaac (Tim Rozon), the stars of Syfy's new series 'Vagrant Queen'. Based on the Vault Comics series by Eisner and GLAAD Media Award-nominated writer Magdalene Visaggio and artist Jason Smith, the show follows Elida, the deposed rightful queen to a space empire, on her adventures across a distant galaxy.

The show combines irresistibly irreverent humor with kickass action and an aesthetic that's about as cyberpunk as it gets. The first episode of the series will be introducing all the major players of the epic story about to unfold, including Elida, her friends, and her mortal enemy Commander Lazaro (Paul du Toit).

Judging by the trailer, 'Vagrant Queen' looks like it's going to be a fun scrappy adventure that's as much 'Star Wars' as it is 'Spaceballs'. Here's how Vault Comics cofounder Adrian Wassel described the show's tone in an interview with SYFY Wire

"This is always the dream, right?" he said. "You hope that whenever you see this type of multimedia development that it’s in honor of the original content, and this very much is. The tone of the series is perfect. The cast loves the book. And [we launched] a second arc in January of 2020. We’re really excited to get more Vagrant Queen comics into people’s hands in advance of the show."

Here's the synopsis for the show's very first episode: "Former queen Elida is cornered by her nemesis, so an old friend comes to her aid, bringing big news."

And if that doesn't have you hooked, here's the official synopsis and premise for the whole series: "'Vagrant Queen' follows Elida from child queen to orphaned outcast, as she scavenges the treacherous corners of the galaxy, always one step ahead of the republic government out to extinguish her bloodline.

"When her old friend Isaac shows up claiming her mother Xevelyn is still alive, they head off with their new ally Amae to stage a rescue that will take her back into the perilous heart of her former kingdom and up against a deadly foe from her childhood, Commander Lazaro," it adds.

'Vagrant Queen' begins airing on Syfy on March 27 at 10 pm ET/PT.
