'Unpolished': Matt says he doesn't want Marton family at the wedding and Bria finds it hard to disagree
Bria and Matt have been having a hard time convincing the family about their wedding and in this week's episode of 'Unpolished', Lexi finally opened up about the problem she had with Matt. The conversation took place when the entire family came together for lunch. Lexi was forced by her mother to clear the air with Matt and tell everything that she had been thinking.
Lexi did not hesitate to tell Matt that her hatred towards him ever since high school because she thinks he spread the rumor that he hooked up with Lexi and Bria's mother. She revealed that she had to face people coming and asking her about it which made her uncomfortable.
Things upset her more because she was seen as an overweight girl throughout her high school and hearing children talk ill about her mother did not fit well with her. Matt assured her that he wasn't the one who started those rumors but Lexi refused to believe it.
Things took an ugly turn when the family started arguing and everyone also had a problem with Matt not being able to provide for himself. Going in and out of rehab Matt did not have a chance to get back on his feet and the Marton family fears that there was a chance he would go back into his old habits if given a chance.
Matt was not happy with the thoughts that were running through their mind and he was unable to understand how they were not able to give him a chance. After careful consideration, he decided it was best if the family did not join them for the wedding. Bria was left surprised but she understood where these thoughts were coming from.
She agreed that Matt did not get the respect that he was hoping to get from the family and she did not blame him for thinking this way. However, she wanted to see how things shaped in the future before taking any step.
'Unpolished' airs on Sundays at 10 pm on TLC.
