Despite her severe injuries, Reena managed to drag herself home, but Ellard and Glowatski, members of 'Shoreline Six', followed her, forced her to take off her jacket and shoes, and thrashed her once again.

On November 22, 1997, Reena's partially dressed body was discovered near the shore at the Gorge Inlet.
Initially, it was suspected that the death was caused by drowning, but it was later discovered that severe injuries were the actual cause.
The six adolescents known as the 'Shoreline Six' were found guilty of participating in the assault that led to Reena's death.
