Names, at times, come with reputations to live up to. In a movie format, 'Snowpiercer' was first conceived by Academy award-winning filmmaker Bong Joon-ho and screenwriter Kelly Masterson. The film, starring Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, and Tilda Swinton among others, received critical acclaim and was praised for its direction and vision. The TV adaptation of the film which was based on the French graphic novel 'Le Transperceneige' created by Jacques Lob and team, premiered on TNT on May 17, 2020, and boy did it live up to the reputation of its namesake film. The show raked in millions of viewers and has been nominated for various awards.

When and where can you watch 'Snowpiercer' Season 3?

The show will air on Mondays at 9 pm ET, starting January 24, 2022. It will also be available on Netflix in regions outside the US and China on the day following its TV screening.

What is 'Snowpiercer' all about?

The logline says, "Set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, 'Snowpiercer' centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation." The characters combat social hierarchy and biased resource allocation on a train consisting of 1,001 carriages divided rigidly by class. 

Who stars in 'Snowpiercer'?

Jennifer Connelly

The show marks Jennifer Connelly's return to TV after 19 years. She was last seen on television in 2001 in Fox's 'The $treet,' a drama that focused on a brokerage house and the lives of its employees. Connelly plays Melanie Cavill, the Head of Hospitality and Voice of the Train. Given the character's humble beginnings, she is rather sympathetic towards the lower-class passengers in comparison to her contemporaries.

Other actors part of the TNT drama are Daveed Diggs, Mickey Summer, Allison Wright, Lena Hall, Iddo Goldberg, Susan Park, Sam Otto, Kate McGuinness, Sheila Vand, Mike O'Malley, and Annalise Basso.

'Snowpiercer' is executive produced by Graeme Manson, Aubrey Nealon, Christoph Schrewe, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Matthew O’Connor, Ben Rosenblatt, and Scott Derrickson. The original film’s producers, including Bong Joon Ho, Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun, and Dooho Choi are also a part of the show serving as executive producers along with the above-mentioned individuals. The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios, along with CJ Entertainment.
