'Anywhere' delivery? Uber Eats employee walks ONTO COURT during Loyola Chicago-Duquesne game
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: It seems nothing can stop a food delivery from being made — neither rain nor snow and not even a college basketball game in progress. An Uber Eats delivery person walked onto the court during an ongoing play in the second half of the Loyola Chicago Ramblers-Duquesne Dukes game on Wednesday, January 25.
The man was spotted holding a bag of McDonald's and getting very close to Loyola Chicago's Philip Alston who was set up on the 3-point line. The game was stopped with 16:10 left and Loyola Chicago holding a 40-37 lead, and game announcers couldn't believe their eyes.

"Was he going to deliver the McDonald's to somebody on the court? Can we rule that out?" one of the announcers quipped, before his partner on the call confirmed it was indeed an Uber Eats logo and a bag of McDonald's. The commentators speculated the delivery was for referee Phillip Austin and noted how the highlight shows would "have a blast" with the incident. “Who’s he delivering it to?” they yelled. “The ref!?”
"Who's he delivering it to? The ref?!"

The Uber Eats worker was seen multiple times, walking around the concourse level and looking for the person who had placed the order. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Abby Schnable revealed that the food eventually found its way into the right hands and the fan who had ordered it was featured on the jumbotron.

Social media lauded the "all-time great" moment, with some insisting the man deserved a large tip. "UberEats driver doing the absolute most. Gotta give him 5 stars plus a big tip. No other option," one tweeted.
"Is this what they mean by McDonald’s All American?? An all-time moment in Duquesne Basketball history sponsored by Uber Eats & McDonald’s," another wrote. "That's an all-time great moment. Dude can't get back to work until this gets delivered," a comment read.
"I mean holy s*** look how close he got to an active player! Credit where it’s due tho. Holding up the bag is smart defense. Once he smells those fries, you know his shot’s gonna be off-target," someone else joked. "Now I’m gonna go to a game pretending to deliver food. Free ticket and I get to bring food in with me," another quipped.

"Only at Duquesne can a guy deliver food on the court during the game," Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot told the press after the game. "Craziest thing I've ever seen in my life, other than when I was an assistant at Eastern Michigan, we had these friends of ours that were good fans. And they got the ice cream guy to deliver the ice cream to the coach coaching the game, during the game. The closest thing I've seen to that." Dambrot added, “Guy had a job to do. He did his job well.” According to the New York Post, Duquesne (14-17, 4-4 Atlantic 10) scored a 72-58 win over Loyola/Chicago (7-13, 1-7).
