The 2021 Halloween commercial dropped by Twix is the latest to draw immense flak online for allegedly promoting violence against transphobia. The commercial, which shows a boy in a princess dress as the protagonist, was dropped on October 11, 2021, by Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween. However, it has gained more traction in the past few days as people began to criticize the message shown in the ad. While the ad undoubtedly aimed to portray a world free of transphobia, many argue that the magical obliteration of a child is not a good takeaway.

Social media users started vowing not to buy Twix ever again and dubbed the commercial as "all wrong". Spurned users even slammed the woke culture accusing the brand of "white shaming." A user tweeted, "Great job. No more twix for the little ones," while another lashed out, "Just sell the candy. Don’t preach to me."

The commercial features a young boy in a princess dress, who later reveals that dressing the way makes them feel good. The cross-dressing child encounters a 'witch' with a goth appearance, who claims herself as their nanny. The two bond over everyday life, while the youngster continue to face discrimination for their choice of dress

They get upset when confronted by two neighborhood girls who remind them "it isn't Halloween yet" to wear a costume. The witch-nanny comes to their rescue time and again in front of others. At the park, when the young kid is seen playing soccer in a dress, a bigger boy bullies them and calls it "weird". The commercial reaches it climax with the witch doing some dark magic to make the bully disappear, but later promises that he might come back.

It is this imagery that did not sit well with most parents as they felt it promotes violence against minors.

"Something wicked this way comes. A magical friend arrives in The New Nanny, the next installment of Bite Size Halloween, sponsored by @twix," read the tweet by 31 Nights.

"So parents leave kid alone until the new nanny comes. Which she forces her self in and then murders a playground boy. All cause he said they look different. Different is good, the commercial is all wrong!" a user tweeted.

Another person tweeted, "Wtf derangement i would never do that i am wind my son is fire my daughter is water and husband earth thats just not kosher among the community being different is fine is the moral but come on candy bars."

"Just sell candy and don't preach me about anything, if i ever have a kid he will never wear a dress," fumed a third user.
