LOWER SILESIA, POLAND: A Twitch streamer has been banned by the platform after she appeared to run over a dog during a live session. The Polish streamer, who goes by the name Sidneuke, was seen in the video checking notifications on her phone while driving. In Poland, drivers are not allowed to use hand-held phones while driving cars.

In the video, the streamer's car hits something and a dog's whimper follows. She later gets out of the car to look around and goes on a rant after apparently discovering the injured dog. In the viral video, she can be heard saying, "If someone lets the dogs out and it's not a one-off situation. These dogs are constantly on the street. I'm saying straight away that dogs shouldn't be free. This is wrong and against the law. You can't leave dogs unattended."

Local authorities notified

Soon after the incident on Friday, February 17, Twitch suspended the streamer's account. A note when trying to access her channel reads: "This channel is currently unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service."

Lower Silesian Inspectorate for Animal Protection notified the prosecutor's office about the incident. In a statement, they said, "We decided to notify the prosecutor's office in this case. The first issue that is beyond doubt is that dogs should not run free. However, since they were already running, then: [she] should [have] stopped and reacted. It's empathy and social duty."

'She knew about the dogs'

A Twitter user shared Sidneuke's video on Twitter and wrote in Polish, "How can you say "Jesus how many dogs are there" and then take out your phone while driving? They should cut their hands off for this behavior." One person said, "Hope Sidneuke is permabanned. And to everyone defending her in any way."

Defending her, one said, "As much as Sidneuke should NOT have been on her phone while driving, or streaming for that matter, cut her some slack FFS, how was she gonna know there would be a dog just run in front of her car. poor from the dog’s owners." Replying to this person, one blamed Sidneuke and said, "Hmmm, but she had noticed their dogs a moment earlier. So she was aware. And STILL, she started using her phone and bum - dog is hit." Another questioned the person defending Sidneuke and wrote, "How would she know???? SECONDS before she literally said, "oh so many dogs here, a bitch is probably in heat." So she KNEW about the dogs around her car."
