Trump to make first trip to New York since leaving WH amid alleged rift with Jared Kushner over election loss
Donald Trump is visiting New York for the first time after leaving the White House in January 2020 while news of an altercation between him and Jared Kushner is making the rounds. The former president has reportedly blamed his son-in-law for his loss in the 2020 presidential election. Trump will visit New York after spending weeks at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, since he lost his presidential bid against Joe Biden. It has been said the Republican will fly to the Big Apple on Sunday, March 7, and will be there until Tuesday, March 9.
This comes as reports stated that the rift between Trump and former White House Senior Adviser Kushner has been escalating after January 20. Recently, the 74-year-old was practicing his golf swing at the exclusive Trump National Doral but left the club minutes before Ivanka and Kushner arrived there. Not just that, Kushner was also not present on Trump's team ahead of his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). An insider close to the 40-year-old said that he “checked out of politics” because he is “done” with his father-in-law’s stubbornness of not accepting his election loss and false claims of voter fraud. “The drama of politics wore him down. Eventually, Trump wears everyone down,” an insider stated. Another said, “Right now, he's just checked out of politics.”

But Trump advisor Jason Miller has refuted tension claims between the two men as he claimed the pair is still in touch as they saw each other at the club right before their separate golf outings and also met for lunch this past week. “There is no rift between President Trump and Jared, as evident by their having lunch this week,” Miller said. Several sources close to Kushner also denied any breach and said the father-of-three is having “some much needed time with his family” and a “break” from politics. It has been said that his wife Ivanka is also relaxing now after leaving Washington, D.C. as they set up their home in one of Miami's most coveted oceanfront buildings, Arte Surfside.
Meanwhile, during his speech at CPAC, Trump hinted at his re-run for the presidency in 2024. He again falsely claimed that he won the last election. “Actually as you know, [the Democrats] just lost the White House, but it's one of those things. But who knows, who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time,” he said, before adding: “And I want you to know that I'm going to continue to fight right by your side, we will do what we've done right from the beginning, which is win.”
The same day Trump also revealed that he “secretly” got the Covid-19 vaccination. He told the audience, “How unpainful that vaccine shot is, so everybody go get your shot”. Later, he was slammed by Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who said, “In a similar fashion to the politicization of masks, we've seen the same thing now to a little bit of a lesser degree, but nonetheless there with the vaccines.” “Another poll by the Gallup Organization last week asked people if a vaccine was available for them right now would they take it? And 91 percent of Democrats said yes. 51 percent of Republicans said yes. So we must close that gap. So what an opportunity for the most respected Republican, the former president of the United States, to make a big statement, to be publicly seen getting vaccinated. Yet he did not do that. Why would he not do that?” Dr. Reiner asked.
