'True Beauty' Episode 15 Spoilers: Su-ho comes back for Ju-kyung after two years, but will she go to him again?
'True Beauty' Episode 15, the penultimate episode of the popular Korean drama based on the popular webtoon of the same name, will see how Ju-kyung ( Moon Ga-young) deals with Su-ho (Cha Eun-woo) leaving for the US. Turns out he has to care for his father in a hospital, a plot point that has been adapted directly from the comic and while he has left to be with his father, he doesn't want Ju-kyung to wait for him. Initially, she tries to keep in touch with him over messages.
In a sad moment, as it snows in Seoul, she sends Su-ho a message stating she hopes that despite the cold weather, he has a warm place to stay, and somehow, Ju-kyung's caring nature burdens Su-ho more than ever. So instead of letting her wait for him with no idea of when he will return, he decides to tell her and Seo-jun (Hwang In-yeop) not to wait for his call or for him for that matter. This is straight out of the comics as well.

Two years down the line, when Ju-kyung is done with high school and when Seo-jun has still failed to get over Ju-kyung but has instead fallen even more in love with her, things turn chaotic again. Seo-jun asks Ju-kyung if it isn't time for her to let Su-ho go, and let memories of him stop hurting her. What is worse, is the fact that Su-ho chooses this exact moment to return and tell Ju-kyung that he missed her. She is clearly in shock and definitely not ready to accept that Su-ho would even return, so what Ju-kyung does is, she responds that she doesn't miss him.
So has she accepted Seo-jun's proposal of maybe attempting to forget him and move on or is this just her initial response to shock?
In the comics, it is in three years after Su-ho leaves that Ju-kyung begins to see Seo-jun as someone that she can be potentially involved with in a romantic relationship. Their friendship, the time that the two of them spent together deepens their bond and makes it a lot more stable than the one that Ju-kyung had with Su-ho. So the two of them begin dating and when Seo-jun decides to become an idol, the constant attention from media and his fans results in Ju-kyung feeling pressurized and so she ends up breaking up with him. However, there is not enough screentime in the drama version to cover something like this and that makes us wonder what Ju-kyung would do next.
After all, her outing herself and attending classes without wearing makeup wasn't something that was included in the comics. So this could be different as well.
'True Beauty' episodes will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10.30 pm on tvN in Seoul and can be streamed on Viki in the US.
